Picked it up today and I have 12 days to get it fully operational before the boat is due at the slip for anti-fouling... could be a bit tight.

Ok so its installed and running nicely. Took it out yesterday to do the first hour of run-in. Tomorrow I will motor over to the slipway for the anti-fouling.

My only criticism so far is that it does not have any feature which allows the rotation to be locked. Given that my setup is static this is a real pain.

I now have to design my own device to keep the motor pointed straight forward without voiding the warranty. I also want to install some plumbing so the motor can be occasionally flushed with fresh water from onboard tanks.

Other than that, the remote control install was quite straight-forward and support has been fine. Once the hull is cleaned and the motor is run in I will be able to tell its full potential.

I'm surprised felix that there's no direction lock lever combined with the bar it pivots on.
Mine has a lock lever that I check every once in a while to secure in the straight ahead.

Also, that stainless bar pictured with the bolt through it could be suspiciously useful??

I have something pretty similar to cable ties for my Yammie 25, bits of spectra. Lasted a decade so far.

well if you def can't lock it, then maybe go outside the box and link it to your steering bar if you have one.
Steerable outboard with small blocks and some spectra line could be the go, and uncleat it when sailing.

And if all else fails, what about glassing some v shaped chocks to the sides of the outboard well,when it's down it drops into straight ahead.

Well they must have changed the specs because my older 9.9 Yammie long shaft definitely has it. How strange to drop something like that because I can imagine that this application (fixed in place) is what 95% of owners use it for. What a pain...
