Mate take a chill pill, you're being silly.

No, I'm just sick of being told to go learn to sail and come back later. THAT'S silly. And unfair. I have a right to post here like anyone else.

You do have a right to be here, I agree. However it's not silly to advise someone they should try before they buy. Do some research as most the questions you are going to ask at this stage in your sailing career would have already been answered 100 times over on this and other forums. Bite your lip and do some research, I think you will manage with your computer skills. If you act like a child, people will treat you like one.

It "IS" silly when there's ample evidence all over my postings that I'm both doing everything I can and making all proper inquiries to GET that experience. It "IS" silly, when I am doing a LOT of research. Who are you to say I am not researching? What would you know about me and what I do with my days? You are just being nasty and spiteful. You have NO idea what I am doing, what research I have done, what actions I have taken and am taking. You just want to berate me and blow me off and "inform me" (as if you know my life better then me) that I am not researching. You incorrectly accuse me of not doing things that I am already doing. Your "POINT" isn't to help me and provide me with genuine and sincere help, your POINT is to berate and belittle me. You're trying to accuse me and belittle me. Blind Freddy can see that - CLEARLY.

Hi guys....I'm really happy to be here on the private pilots aircraft forum. I really wanna have a plane and fly out of Fiji. I dont have an aircraft or a private pilots licence or any endorsements or air time. Or any money or any knowledge. But I'd like to buy this 1971 Cessna 152 that's sitting in a barn in parts. Can I just get some super glue and glue it together? I'll probably die and kill someone else in the process and ignore your advice but hey....can I be the centre of attention for a while ?

For goodness sake Len. Will you please talk about sailing and stop talking about what is wrong with the forum contributors.

You seem to only want to take from here and not put anything positive in.

If you do not have anything good to say, say nothing.

It will be better for the forum and certainly better for you.

You mean like this?

I'm not the one with the problem mate.

looks to me like concrete will be to SB what foiling is to another sailing forum.

I was this far away from donning the spotty boardshorts and hanging out with the kiters.

Now if you could just make a concrete board that foiled......

You can borrow my spotty shorts Crusty, it seems the sailing forums are more entertaining than the kiting forums lately.

Edit: it's a shame you have been compared to our shenanigans, I've never posted over here but I've seen that you guys are normally a helpful lot with no bickering and hissy fits, with advice flowing freely and people willing to listen and learn from the advice.

Not entertaining today, the last couple of days was interesting, members yachts, choices of propulsion, weight. Sadly its turned to crud again. Really don't care who thinks who's a troll or if ones not happy with the answers ones getting. I'm off to the shed to work on the t/s.

I see what's going on here , I been on sailing anarchy for 10 years same **** happens only much more nasty. Len you need to settle down a bit , you would get absolutely destroyed if you carried on like this over at SA .

If you want to know a stack of info , ect , start ONE thread and set it out like a survey that people can cut and paste and answer your questions , these multiple threads asking one question at a time piss people off ......". Better to keep it in one thread and you'll be surprised how well it will take off "
And don't ask stupid/irrelevant stuff

An example would be

Here's a survey please cut and paste and fill out relative info.

1 / what experience do you have boating or sailing?

2 / what age did you start?

3 / do you currently have a sailing vessel?

4 / where is is mainly used ( cruising , racing , clowning around ect )

5/ ............ect .....ect....

Ask whatever questions you want , this will keep everything in the one spot not all over the front page and people like myself can come here every now and then and not have to spend 2hrs sifting though 50 pages of bullcrap to see what's happening.

Keep it all in one place and if people want to contribute they will , those who don't can pop in every now and then and only have to go though one thread ...... Not the twenty which some clown has smashed the front page with.

My advise to anyone who wants to learn to sail , find out about boats , is to head down to their local yacht club and mix with some members , don't come on too strong and make a dick of yourself and you will easily find some fellow enthusiasts who will gladly take you sailing or show you round.

Whoa, hang on here,
You mean, your suggesting the same thing every single person on this forum has suggested. I agree entirely!

Having had a couple of weekends go past since the questions started I am sure Lenny has been down to at least one or two clubs and kicked some tires, said g'day to a few people and generally sniffed it all out.
You can't research it all on the internet!
There is a t-shirt that sums it up.......

Just do it!!

So if that's my advise and everyone's else's what's that tell you ...... Go down the club with an esky with some ice cold rum cans ...you'll soon make plenty of friends....
