I was reading my copy last week, just thinking what a great mag this is, and that I would love to have a crack at writing an article, SA based, we have some great SA Supers here, some cool breaks and great coastline,

A real shame, here's hoping for a return of some kind in the future,

I work in the publication / Advertising industry and know the pressures of putting together a mag like this, two great issues, well done Casso! You will be back!!!!

Hey Casso, like everyone, sorry to hear the news and great job - very professional publication.

Having been involved with a Goatie mag for 5 years (Surf Ski Quarterly) I know how tough the small mag business is and the numbers really need to be there to make it worthwhile. I reckon if you worked out your hourly rate on this sort of thing it would be about what maccas pays a casual !

Just stuff like chasing advertisers is sooo time consuming, let alone the million other things involved in putting a mag together. One bloke managing to do all that is amazing!!

At least you might get some surfing and family time back

Thats a real shame Casso you really hit the ground running with your first 2 editions as Oiliver said these will be collectors issues.

Putting out something like that on your own must be a huge task.

Thanks again.

I'm shocked. It was such an awesome effort from the very first instance, and every was behind it.

As so many of the others have said, it's certainly no failure, but an awesome achievement, and I doubt we've heard the last from trusty Casso.

Great ideas !

If it was solely a time constraint issue I'm sure a bunch of guys on here would gladly put their hand up to help/assist....after seeing that briefing on Issue #3 and where the mag was headed I was totally stoked !!

Damn!!!
Just read this and it ruined my day. Thanks so much for the mag Casso. It was seriously full of stoke. Looking forward to an issue was kinda like looking forward to a tax return. Not quite sure when it was going to arrive and not quite sure how much you were going to score, but when it arrived, Shweeeeet!!!

Hey Casso I just had a thought, you're not trying to drum up business by doing one of those closing down sales where the shop never actually closes down, are you ?

Bummer Casso that was a great mag!

Not as good IMO but how about an on-line version saves on allot of work and what with flash you can add allot of footage too. More and more people are prepared to pay for good on-line content.

heh paddlesurfer mag, took the advice from all the bloggers and just bought both issues, looking forward to a good read, not having seen the mag, maybe you could of used a similiar method of marketing your mag as our media moguls, a fair smattering of tits and bums, it seems to work for them... sorry I digressed!
