I don't think kooks on body boards or even mals can be used as a comparison to a sup, its like comparing comparing getting hit by a bicycle to a road train

Mate, getting hit by a 76kg guy on a 8'9" sup would have less kinetic energy than a 120kg guy on a 9'6" mal

Christ weiry, you been watching The Curiosity Show again ? Mate, if a 120kg bloke falls off his Sup and careers head first into your snotbox, you can stick your kinetic energy where it fits. That extra 44kg says you're gone.

thats what i'm saying the bigger guy will have the biggest impact not necessarily the craft.

True, I was really referring more to the boogie boards comment though.

As I undrstand it the general theme of the original post was kooks being where they shouldnt be. The local back beach has a permanent rip current running out next to the reef. For obvious reasons its called "the escalator". Over summer every member of the local boardriding community pulls out more than their fair share of clowns on boogie boards who with minimal clue and or skill, flop into the escalator and very quikly find themselves way out of their depth, generally on the heaviest part of the reef. Classic case of kooks on boogie boards being where they shouldnt be and endangering themselves and others, namely the poor schmucks who have to go and drag them out.
And so back to old mate and the kiddies corner carnage. If he hadnt been a clueless dick, he wouldnt have been anywhere near kiddies corner and logicaly, his board could do no damage. If he knowingly went into kiddies corner he's a whole different animal eg the arrogant, clueless dick and he needs to be dealt with at the local level and not on an internet forum.

It's all good. I know who I am "after" - noting I really don't want to ding my SUP -
and they sure as hell aint kids. No kids on my list; absolutely taboo.

Opps, did I just post that?[}:)]

Regardless of whether he was clueless or not-it's a kid's surf spot-hence the name-he shouldn't have been there.

Regardless of the weight of the rider-a 10-12 foot board on a 10-12 foot leash that weighs as much as SUP has potential to cause way more damage than a 6 foot board on a 6 foot leash.

Again, people with limited skill and surf knowledge on SUPs should not be riding in crowds - particularly crowds of children.

A SUP forum is the perfect place to get the message out to SUP riders.

Those of you not liking the message may be part of the problem.

No ones arguing about it being inapropriate to ride a SUP at Kiddies Corner and in order to do so one would have to be clueless.

Regardless of the weight of the rider and the length, weight of board and legrope, someone who is clueless has the potential to cause carnage.

Again people with limited skill and surf knowledge should not be riding anything in crowds, particularly crowds of children.

As ninety nine point nine percent of those who contribute to this forum dont appear to be clueless its not apropriate to be tarring us all with the same brush as old mate from Kiddies Corner.

Those of you not willing to deal with local issues at a local level are most definitely part of the problem

SUPers who cant surf trying to do it in places where their skill level isnt up to it.

I agree that there are SB and LB pilots that havnt got a clue as well.
