This is where I plan to mount it.. The leggie should still slid around past it without catching on it.

I can also hold it with both hands (side by side) because it's wide enough.

That setup doesn't look that bad. Just be ready to let go if things go pear shaped!

Yeah.. I think the idea is to use fingers (that can release and slip out) rather than a full grip that might get your hand stuck... We'll see..

I like to alternate between just fingers and a full grip. However recently I have fitted just the rail saver from a broken leash to the spare rear leash plug. Being just a strap rather than a loop when the pull gets super critical it slips from your hands no danger of twisting or wrenching saves load on the leg leash and keeps the board a bit closer to you for a faster retrieval in the soup.

Just a short note on the ankle v calf leggie. I'm pretty sure the calf possie has more to do with mal riders doing cross over walks up and down the board rather than how it pulls when you wipeout. Some people didn't like getting the leggie tangled between their toes and so this was the solution.I say put it on your ankle and get used to being dragged backwards. Don't worry, you won't get sucked over the falls, it just feels like it.

100% correct Jack,The only reason longboarders use calf leggies,to cross step! and thats the only reason. Ankle leggies are the way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One more trick is too make one of those paddle clips that connect to your shorts , it' just a simple piece of PVC with a full slot cut out or a Caribena if your not fussy , this will give you 2 free arms to barrel roll the board , I do this sometimes on my 9-1 with the paddle still in my hand ,I'm going to make a clip.

I can't find a photo of one but it is on the web somewhere I'm sure DJ can find it

Rob

P.S DJ Sam Pa'e uses the Caribena if that helps the search but I can't find it.

Anyone got more info on paddle clips? Sounds like something I could use!
Need something to free both my hands (even when carrying board would help!).
