I love your part about "is it me or did that not do anything for SUP"???
are we part of a crazy church cult? are we trying to sell ourselves like cheap hookers??
man if you look at it from the "getting new people into the sport" angle then 99% of the crew that SUP are bad publicity.
I think having a chick doing something different on a SUP is a great way to get people into it, especially chicks.
OK she might have made a small mistake (which you learn from pretty quick) but if you watch the episode, she actually stayed quite calm and just waited for assistance.
theres been plenty of incidents shown in the media where the person in question has panicked or dramatised the situation, i think for a predominately flat water paddler, she did pretty good, and showed far more experience then others ever would.
get off this bloody forum and go paddling...
Couldnt have said it better....
Ahh Chivalry is not dead! Well done Gents for coming to the ladies defence. Actually my point was that much of the time media exposure to our sport is negative or cast in a 'kooky' light, as was this little gem from channel TEN. I thought the use of grabs and sound bites just didn't do SUP any favours ... But what should I expect! No offence to Charolette, well done to her and all her good work, sounds like she is getting plenty of advice and coaching. I look forward to seeing her rip in the near future and put the rest of us kooks to shame!
