Caught my first SUP wave today. I got a Starboard 12'6" last Thursday and have been paddling it on flat water. Tonight there was a bit of chop around so took it next to the break water at the harbour where the chop wraps around and comes in clean. It was only knee high shore break but I went fast enough to foot steer so I'm claiming it

Oooh the memories you brought back: the first time I went out to try out my brand new sup, my first sup wave, the first fish I caught trawling while on my sup, the first big paddle I did from Philip Island to the mainland. I still remember every minute with great fondness. What a great sport this is. Always learning and getting a kick from it. Really looking forward to going out again tomorrow in the 10cm surf (measured from the back).
