If zaks having a surf, Tim is usually in the shop, nice bloke. Tim plays the straight man to Zaks cruel sense of humour. Like a Penn and Teller type thing. My last wettie came from Zak and while trying on a LARGE Zak says "Na your a fat UCTN you'll need an XL"................I bought the XL!!!

lame it maybe. but i think there is a number of people looking for consistency in what is allowed and what isn't to posted. i've lesser stuff pulled

sure looks like a double standard sometimes.

i like dj stuff as much as anyone

i hope zaks do well.

i hope the waves keep coming- been out and about twice today.

i hope everyone has a great long weekend

The moral of the story is I should not take the pi$$ out of a post as a joke cause everyone takes it too seriously and the thread goes on for way too long. (even if the advertising info lines are blurred)

Sorry but i rarely take the forums seriously and don't know why the hell I reply - sometimes after a pale or two its just too hard not too

Im goin for another surf

That explains a lot.

First time I went into Zaks a couple of years ago before I'd ever been on a SUP, I was hiring some boards for a film shoot and I casually asked him if he knew anything about this new fangled thing called SUP. He rolled his eyes and said something sarcastic as I recall. Then his offsider piped up and said "Don't listen to him, he was out SUP surfing all day yesterday, he just won't admit it!"

Glad to see Zak has finally come out of the closet.

Your all crazy, Im new to the sport and if it wasnt for the info picked up in this forum I'd have no idea where to go or even who to talk to. Had no idea at the start you could even demo a board until I got plent of advise to do so. thanks to all who have posted positive info rather than all the negative.
Just love to get out and catch a few wave.

I'd like to thank Zak for bringing down the LSD boards to our SUP Vic weekend.
LSD is a brand that we haven't seen much of down here in Vicco.

Just so I don't get in trouble for pimping Zak's or LSD, we also had Naish, Starboard, Coreban,
PSH and Fanatic boards for demo kindly provided by RPS (87 Ormond Road, Elwood) and
SHQ (Beach Road, Sandringham).

Bnaccas,
See if you convince Zak to add en event to the calendar.... Zak's Classic. If you leave it up to Zak, I'd bet his sense of humour would be a 10km sprint on Sub 9'ers.

10km on sub 9'ers? Zak can stick his classic up his clacker! But another race event would be great.

I've got heaps of great pics showing the inside of Zak's shop for those who're interested and I'll post them soon.. Meanwhile I expect you all to go out and buy a BMW motorcycle because I say they are soooooo good and I love mine so much.. and I'll also be expecting a big discount at my local BMW dealer next time I buy something there..

The slight differential with Zak's is that I've heard interestingly positive responses from 4 totally separate people, plus it is quite possibly one of the best surf shops over 100km from a surf beach. Melbourne north side....

Plus they seem to be stocking a reasonable range of Surfboards, "Hand Made in Australia".

It's going to be a great shop for me. When I'm bored out of my brain at the "out-laws", I can duck in there for a little bit.... 45-60 minutes of the day filled in....

(Nice Scooter )

What he said....its the best surfshop in Melbourne...

Here's my pics from inside Zak's.. Those who think this post is all about pimping or free advertising move on..

It's for those who like checking out surf shops and surf gear that might be different to their local shop.

When you walk in the first thing you notice is all the old boards on the ceiling.

I'm sure I had one of those round skim boards.

Love all the old glassed on skegs/fins.

Nice old Mc Coy.

Great old MR single fins.

I wonder if this Paddy board is anything to do with Pat Morgan?

Anyone remember Vision Street Wear?

After browsing the ceiling you can't help but notice how many new boards there are.

I liked this little Terry Fitzgerald board.

Looks like they even sell ironing boards.. This is the first I've seen with a leash plug in the end.

I spotted an old Trigg's board and a new Hoff board.

There were also lots of old skate boards hanging.

Also new ones and scooters.

Fins.. Lots of cool fins.

Cool T shirts and lots of surfing dvd's and books.

I wonder who this is?

All the SUP gear is hidden out in the back room.

Looks like Zak rides a pushie to work.

Jeez.. Is that the time.

Awesome shop. Always interested to see shops getting on board with SUP equipment - especially the traditionally hardcore shortboard guys.

Converting the world, one shop at a time!

I don't reckon TF will be too happy about those SUP things sharing the same airspace with his retro HB boards though.

Who cares , we have 2 sup shops at maroochydore too, and a mcdonalds and a bunnings anyone want a photo . Nice to know where the shops up, surely everyone doesnt have to advertise here !!!

Who cares?

Well I do.

Who cares about macdonalds or bunnings ffs, not me.

And it wasnt an ad, it was about DJs day out at a classic surf shop with great gear. I for one is glad that DJ posted these pics as they are mostly well shot, have a bit of humor in them and show some classic boards.

You go to bunnings if you want mate but now Ive had a look around Zaks shop, better than bunnings or maccas
