G'day Firstpoint,
I must of snuck my order in just before you and received my new 9'5 surfshapes rebel last Thursday before easter and surfed it for five days straight.
Totally stoked with the board ,great deckpad and nonslip finish between the deckpad and nose ,no need to wax when forward weights required.
It surfs awesome and now I just have to improve to match the performance that this boards capable of [probably wont but I'll give it a try]and already pulled a few moves I never had before.
Cheers,
Camo.

Thats great Annie is ripping on her new board, Kylie my wife is loving my 8 6" as well, when she surfs with me now she sends me back to the 9 6" naish everytime She surfs the 8 6" better than the 9 6" She wasnt happy when she dropped in on me on the weekend and a I ran her over I didnt mean too and felt really bad later

btw, annie let a 68 kg guy surf her 8 footer,he had no problems paddling and catching waves on it,annies board is only 87 litres and floats 68 kg fairly easy, interesting for those that want a custom from rod and want even more performance.

All of this hype is going to cost me a 6hr drive. I rode Rods kite boards when I started to kite the were a little different to what everyone else was doing, and to this day still the best kite boards I have ridden (I used to work in a shop so I have ridden a LOT)
I ride a 9'6 Naish but I guess its time to do the 6hr drive and try 1 of Rods SURF SHAPES.
Beside its a great wave.

G'day Drewsta,
Dimensions are 9'5" and 29.5 wide with a volume of what Rod calls 381beers.
He must have had a big night when he worked that one out.

Hey Cam, looks real good! Can't wait to have a paddle on it, thats if you want to swap to probably an inferior board.

Rod, does the bottom need to be white or can the rail colour go all the way?

Cheers

rod is showing why aussie shapers are the best, support our industry and make it grow, the more aus shapers get to ply their craft the better for us,the consumer, after all they build boards to suit our conditions.

Col you are so patient, the school hols and the floods we had have knocked my work schedule to pieces. The good news is I will finish your board this week, my wife is taking a weeks hol starting today to be with the kids, which is usually my job over school hols, that's why I'm semi retired.

Rod kite I only have my 7'10 and my 18month old 9'4, I sold my new 8'6 just before Easter to Dee Jay in Freo, he is the same weight as me and twisted my arm to let him take it to Bali on his annual hols. So Cranky there is a board over your way, just a little south of you. It cost $201.00 in freight to Perth.

Brendan I really only like to make the bottoms of my boards white for heat resistance and ease of repair, but I am also using a sneaky, strong, proprietary laminating system developed by me and it looks best in white.

Rod I'm in the process of building a new board for my self several actually, I really want a longer board for the thick swells we are going to get this winter around 9'9 with a little narrower tail. I'll post the pdf when I have finalised the design.

The reason why I am tardy in replying to this forum lately is that the floods we had have screwed up the telephone lines, there is so much noise during wet weather that the ISP connection drops out continuously, so much so that it is nearly impossible to maintain a connection. I am tired and fed up restarting IE all the time and when it gets really bad I have to reboot the modem, and then it can get worse and I have to reboot my PC to restore a connection. I have a line of sight to the local wireless tower but Optus only offers 5 gig up and down and only with a 24 month contract. So we have decided to put up with wet weather for the time being.

So if I'm not around much its because it is raining at my place. Just to be sure that this post gets thru I have to copy it to the clip board so I don't loose 15mins of typing if the modem has dropped out.

one more sleep, this is like xmas for me,rod is delivering my new 9 foot shooter in the morning, only one problemo, northerly wind on the points at noosa, might have to wait for a decent wave but it will get wet tomorrow.btw his landline has been shot from all the water coffs harbour has experienced, hence no or little contact, his asdl drops out all the time, plus school hols plus water flowing thru the factory.
