So true Lacey but that's the collateral damage. I guess thats the position the government finds themselves in protecting life.

It's time people took this a little more seriously and stop thinking of themselves, the sooner the faster we will recover.

Social engineering at its best the way they have implemented this, yet it was probably the only way without causing mass hysteria whether you agree with it or not.

Interesting comments from you police chief.. No travel unless it's essential so you shouldn't be driving to surf?

"So it's very simple - maintain social distancing. Please, non-essential travel - you shouldn't be 'travelling outside your village'."

They have closed Coolangatta to Greenmount only.
Funny , the big issue is just around the point heading south,Rainbow,LM and Snapper.
See you behind the rock tomorrow Lacey Crazy ruling this one.
D-bah is in NSW's but because of the boarder closures NSW's people can't get there but QLD people can.

Schools out on intention. But many factors pointing to social manipulation with a pandemic being the derived excuse.

I agree that to do nothing would be ridiculous, and foolhardy. But to attempt to apply draconian control measures that even attempt to govern relationships? And to implement on the fly in a hap hazard way through the police who are briefed on the fly how to do so?
However I don't blame the cops. They have found themselves with powers and authority to make on the spot judgements without clear understanding in a dynamic environment.

Some common sense needs to prevail. If people are exercising social responsibility and distance let them be. If they are being records and endangering others, or showing a blatant disregard fine the hell out of them.

The real test of these measures will be when the danger passes. How long will that actually take? Who makes that call? Based on what information and data? And when it is made how long until these powers are revoked and a semblance of normality returns?
If this drags on and on, then I for one will be shouting loudly, but based on facts and proofs and not just for social justice.

see. We have people surfing at the local Its ok. A few out there but spread out.
Now thats going to change. Ie all those southern end surfers straight to next beach.

Ps not happy with some of the media stirring the kettle.
These photos with the depth of field making it look like everyone is in top of each other.
Sure some are!

I can't take credit for the lawn - Gabe and Louise's share house.
I think they find surfing more important than lawn maintenance.

That was gold and I hope he is right, some light at the end of the tunnel our PM has been talking 6 months or more,I'm no expert BUT if we all stay low for a few weeks this virus should be under control,it may mean no OS travel for months but we can start a recovery by opening businesses again re employ those put off,cut the loses.
