Hi, I recently received my AEON foil. I am having trouble mounting it to my board because the mounting screws are set in an angled position with no adjustment possibility. My boards are Severne Hydro/Starboard X-15 with flat head deep tuttle foil box. My previous Starboard Race Foil mounts with the screws 90 degrees up from the tuttle head. It also has some wiggle room for adapting to shim adjustment of the rake. The AEON foil doesn't have this possibility. Patrik is not responding to my request for help. Is there anyone here who have experienced the same problem and maybe have a solution?

What rake is your mast patrik recommend 3.5 degrees

I am having the same problem. I have a starboard freeride 144 board. When I set the foil without shims, I have 5 degrees of rake. When I set the mast rake at 2-3 degrees so when I put the shim (thickest part in the back), the bolt head is sitting at an angle in relationship to the roof of the box and ends up bending. I will create shims for the top washer so the bolt head sits flat. If that doesn’t help, I will make a slot in the mast so I can angle the bolt (more upright). That is how the IQfoil mast works.

I also have the same issue with Patrik: they don’t respond to messages or they forward it to a shop. Their foils are good but their customer service, in my experience, is bad.

My AHD foil board has elongated bolt holes from the factory . As mentioned before, a little judicious use of a small round file might be helpful .

First: take the 400 dnx instead of 375.
400 has the same speed and gybes way better.
i use a +1 shim in rear position. I am a litte faster than you.
750/100v1/160 +1
650/100v1/160 +1 top 30,8kn
550/100v1/150 +1 top 31,5kn
450/100v2/150 +1 top 31,8 kn
400/100v2/150 +1

Hi can you share the distance from front screw to mast foot?

the Patrik foil Bretagne website says 104cm which is basically almost right at the beginning of the mast track on my phantom mk2 85cm 160L

I have tried it at 109cm from front screw (where i used to use the phantom Iris foil) that felt "the best" so far. ... i tired 110/111cm which I thought corresponded more to the future fly 130/135cm (measured from back of those boards) settings... was actually slower.

Basically just trying to find some neutral setting to start at

also why the 160 and not 195 rear wing?

I have only been using the 0.75 rear shim so far. (foil Bretagne website recommendation)

I weigh 84kg

have set the rake to 3.4degrees recently - i had it at 2.5 degrees and it actually felt better but everyone says 3+ degrees rake...

top speed so far has been 26 knots with 13 knots of wind flat water 650/195/v2

in more wind 15-18 knots day i was not able to get a higher speed granted water was not flat but i found that odd... i just used a smaller sail that day not sure if i should be changing front (and rear?
) wings at that point

I think what i need to figure out first is where to place the mast foot as i am getting conflicting information from many sources.

Thanks anyone for any input.

Settings are a personal preference but to give You some thoughts:

I use more shim with the V2 fuse, because it has less lift (frontwing furhter back) then the V1 fuse: +1,5 or +1,75 shim (I use Point 7 F1SL sails, from what I feel they put more pressure on the nose than other sails so I have to use more shim).
Mastfoot also more to the back withe the V2 fuse: 107,5

with the V1 Fuse I use +1 shim and Mastfoot at 108,5 cm.

Thankyou this reflects my settings more or less i used 108cm from front screw yesterday felt the best (started at 104cm like the Bretagne Patrik guide website - felt totally awkward and really hard to get moving before foiling - then i moved it to 106 then 108 and it felt best at 108cm) - With 650/195 V2 - 0.75shim - 7.7m sail shim i got my best speed so far 26.5 knots in about 16-18 knots of wind. Probably could have been using 6.7m sail.

I also have p7f1sl sails 😂😂 will try your suggestion with the more shim. Side note with the p1f1sl sail are you finding the EXT guides are like way off i am pulling down to 3-4cm of downhaul sometimes 4-5cm and sail is already correct profile/loose leach - too much past this the leach is so loose it begins to flap.

I am 85kg 182cm for reference

Previous foil - phantom iris R foil which i still own was also using around 108/109cm mastfoot from front screw.

Are you in Canada? (your display name just a guess haha)

You don‘t need to pull the sail all the way down, a little space between the pulley and the extension is ok. But with too little downhaul the sails feel heavy.

I am from Austria (Europe).
