i think the graphic designers of naish and jp have always had this ongoing competition, to see who can make the most revolting looking board

i think north and fanatic will sell some gear this year on looks alone

here's hoping that for jp its a repeat of 2008, where the gear might have looked questionable, but was great to ride

Actually, based on teh shots in this thread, I'm liking the graphics on the RRD best, and more mainstream than in the past.

American designers.

Did starboard do this just to say "Look, you can put green and yellow together and make it look (really) good?"

the naish waveboards of 5 years or more back which made the mural when all put together looked awesome but yer it's been downhill since then.

They should look to surfboard graphics. Nothing better than a sexy board. (can I say that?)

The JP boards actually look pretty good this year. (i will show you some pics when I am allowed to) Wait till you see the Freestyle board dude!!!! You will be frothing!! In my opinion it is the best looking board of the lot. But they all look pretty good.

So who out of the folks doing the red thumbing have actually seen the JP's in the flesh?

i like the look of those goya sails

What ever happened to hot sails and their superfreaks? At one stage the owner was confidently claiming the sails were selling themselves. I haven't seen or heard anything for at least a couple of years now, and only ever one person with a hotsail made in the last 10 years. would they still be in business?

Am I good enough a windsurfer to buy super, super-cool looking gear?
Serious question.

(I am not good)

They (JP/NP) are being very good at keeping it to themselves...Can't find any specs on the internet. But will put them up as soon as I find anything

Have read on a few other Windsurfing forums that the boards will mostly be the same sizes & measurements but with multi fin options.

Serious answer.
Yes, of course you are.
While new gear wil not make you a better sailor, it won't hold you back either. It may motivate you to train more, or just make the experience more fun.
The trick is to buy gear that is ideal for your ability and conditions. I'm still working on that, and have flipped a little bit of gear over the last year in that pursuit.
If you buy something that is just not working, don't feel bad about selling it.

@hc: I think not having a dealer here really means that they don't have much of a presence locally. Looking online thou seems like plenty of people sail them. Heck if you just looked at the gold coast, you'd think that JP/NP was the only windsurfing manufacturer in business still. p.s. the goya's do look sick, I've been saying for ages that I wanna get a goya eclipse as my next sail, but ended up buying a SWAT cause it was cheap.

@panda: who cares how good you are. Looking cool is much more important lol

Hopefully not everyone runs out and buys fanatic gear in 2011, thou i strongly suspect many will. Its no fun having gear if everyone else has it as well (keep buying JP please guys). Definately gonna keep the '10 skate, but might bin the JP twin for a fanatic quad... DAMN THEY LOOK HOT!

I'm wanting an RRD freestyle twin fin.

Very practical for where I'm at, lots of shallow sandbars, 16cm or so of fin would increase sail-able areas by 100%+. That's some seriously shallow water.

Hmm...

See honey, it's a smart investment.
