Thought it's about time to get a thread rolling for all the future stuff we're going to drool over. First up, a rather dramatic entry from Fanatic.

Simmers new carbon wave sails dropped yesterday. They come with a new mast which is confusing. Not sure if they tweaked a new mast bend curve specifically for this sail even though they say the existing 100% mast is the recommended mast.

they also have new wide tailed boom range which is an awesome outcome as simmer sails can be tuned very full. Gotta get this boom..

this is gonna be expensive for me. All this new kit drops just when I'm ready to replace my quiver which is a few years old now. I held out a season longer because of the new gear that's been in the works. Not gonna call it an upgrade it's just time for new sails.

I think they came from the North Sails designer circa 2012....

New 2026 JP magic ride

jp-australia.com/preview-saison-2026/

I have the existing shape, it's such a fun board combines speed and good turning. I really like the narrow tail, so interesting to see the tail getting wider and the nose getting narrower

That Duotone ad just feels like they are advertising Hogwarts. Almost felt asleep. I also like that any equipment one makes still cannot bend physics.. a 5m sail made of plutonium-silk nanotubes versus 5m one from monofilm 10 years ago are grabbing exactly 5 square meters of wind pressure. Same with boards where you have very limited variables to tweak that all affect each other and probably on some odd years tweaking yeilds lemons and some other years, great boards.
The only way to know is always stay 2-3 years behind "cutting-edge" windsurfing progress. On average all my equipment is about 8 years behind.

Plenty new surplus and quality second hand equipment to mix-match, you'll save some decent coin for sure with a wait and see approach. I agree with your overriding sentiments that not everyone is an early adopter, nor should they be. But not everyone is willing to compromise for budgetary reasons.

An issue for those of us that don't play a conservative waiting game is that you can't always get what you are after. I've been around long enough to know what I need and where/when to compromise. For me the result is integrated board+sail combos that all work in a similar fashion and I don't second guess/learn different set-ups for what can be some pretty serious conditions year round. But I have the luxury of living where good sea breezes are a way of life, summer days are always on the coast somewhere and we get to truly dial in our kit.

Can't get past Flikka for my fantasy boards, but would like to try the new Hotsails ks3 lithium for float'n'ride conditions. Both are pretty rare in the uk second hand, so likely to remain in the realms of 'one day!'

Ok, maybe I am not losing my mind

I saw them posting new boards on IG and I was confused that it was Starboard because their red color scheme looks so similar to Severne.

The boards look good but I agree, embarrassingly lazy graphics leveraging too heavily on the sister brand.

That board looks sexy!

I wonder how fast and versatile is it for side onshore

Want fast and versatile, go Pyro. When you find the Pyro out of its depth, go Stone. Different horses for different courses.

Is that the future for the wind foil mast? The Moths are already doing it.

Very happy they are working on a board too. Is that something for next year? I wonder if Patrik is bringing new foil designs as well.

Patrik is working on a new foil mast, that will be even thinner. New thinner fuselage as well. For the speed freaks.
