Ah well there ya go, maybe he did have his hand in it in some way. Sorry, it was a while ago. Happy to be corrected though Stevo. But you'd be amazed at how many people get their names put on things they don't actually have anything to do with in the design...

yeah fair enough, I mean it sounds fancy enough to make the average person think they are getting some awesome new design board by some extreme custom board maker

hey there folks,

the x-it was not an old windrush - it was a new design by bombora (tom luedecke). he raced it quite a bit when it first came out and won a few slalom events around oz.

rex, i am almost certain that the windrush design you are talking about was the ill-fated bombora "kakadu", which was a dog compared to the x-it and didn't last long....

Just to get a few facts straight.
When Windrush Sailboards decided that there was better things to do in life than make overweight soggy windsurfers, and production epoxy boards were too difficult, they closed the doors and sold off assets through Ocean Action.
When the time came to empty the Poly molding shop I was faced with hiring a truck and a tip fee. So I called Roger Dalhunty of Saiboards Australia and asked if he wanted to pay frieght to Sydney, he agreed and it saved me a dollar or two as well!..There were no liquidators involved.
This the first I ever heard of any production from the molds that were sent, thanks for the information.

What the hell r you mob on about? A Storm 8 or Storm 10 look nothing whatsoever like an X-IT.

The Bombora X-IT was a Leudecke designed slalom board that could not be produced in even the most modified Windrush Storm 8/9/10 mould.

BTW it had the production board speed record in about 1991, 34kn.

If it really counts, Sailboard Extra in 1991 has it listed as 110L, $499 as is, $1199 with a rig.
