If you resubmit you will replace the current one with a new one. Not sure what happens to the votes yo may have gotten.. maybe they reset... dont know.

Good to see Laurie is taking the concerns raised, SO seriously.

If I am to understand the gist of this?? in the last Competition One real SB user won One pair of sunnies.
Where is the list of prizes won by the aforesaid comp trolls?

And to PR. 6600+ posts????? does Laurie pay you a fee per post?

The competitions are about fun - your chance to entertain the viewers, and also a great opportunity to win some prizes.

These competitions where started out of a genuine desire to give back. I see it as a huge win for everybody involved.

It's an opportunity for everybody & anybody who uses seabreeze, it's not a closed comp just for forum posters.

Sincerely hope you guys are enjoying them, as there are some fantastic entries, and please have faith that we can pick bogus logins and bogus voting.

And .. most of all .. enjoy .. (leave the "seriousnous" of adjudication & "cheat spotting" to us )

Check these entries!

All major winners are recent members and only one has posted (2 posts).

Would have been nice to see some regulars get rewarded.

Thanks for caring jermaldon, and thanks for your kind words.

Sorry you weren't one of the prize winners - there can only be a few.

We slipped an additional $500 worth of prizes to an extra 10 entrants.

Despite the fact that some windsurfers post "not happy" comments during and after each comp, I still have a belief that windsurfers enjoy them (and the prizes), and that most windsurfers are grateful for the opportunity.

Not fussed about not winning, my entry was rubbish compared with most of the others. My personal favorite was the one that did the light diodes that make the seabreeze logo when the bicycle wheel spun. Brilliant! Dont know how that slipped though the cracks.

One of the major winners "mossopossum" member since 5th April 2010, competition ended next day, 0 photos and 0 posts, skeleton information in profile. Eh... regardless on how good the entry was the profile is sus.

BTW good on Skully for the effort with the sauce bottles!!!

The sauce bottles were classic.... I only signed up on the weekend, saw the comp, entered it. I've only got 3 posts (including this one)... but eh, I've only just decided to start learning to kitesurf on the weekend.

My mate told me about the classifieds here and the fact that sb sometimes ran comps... so yeah it's pretty good advertising for attracting new visitors.

Would have I signed up regardless? Probably... I'll have a lot of stupid questions to ask as I go about getting some gear etc. I probably wont post about sharks as much as some tho

I entered because frankly, the gear is damned expensive and I've got none

There's a lot of things you can do to try to stop people entering multiple times... most of which can be dodged by anyone intent on doing so. Mobile phones? Who doesn't have 5-10 mates who'd let you enter in their name with their #? IP address restrictions? Log on via proxy/different location... that'd also stop roommates on same internet connection... lots of different issues there. Real names? Friends entering on your behalf etc etc.

Really the only thing to do is just let people enter as many as they want perhaps? I've got no idea... I just know there's little one can do about it if people want to be prats.

Either way, congrats to the winners.

To the noob forums with me... I have some reading and research to do

a bit sus...why not save a prize or two (sunnies or something) for a "The best of the regulars" catagory , only for people who have posted 10 times or more. Let the competition ring ins have the rest ......

Why do you guys have to winge so much. Who cares how many times they have posted here or if there regular or not. They were picked cause they sent through good entries. Maby step up your game next time and try a little harder instead of waiting for a hand out. Mine was **** too but im not going to sook cause i didnt get a prize.

Wooohoooo! I've won something out of Laurie's candy bar!! Now lemme see...what would be nice...oh darn I'll pick something tomorrow when me brain is fresh!

I'm stoked!!!! Thanks Laurie and judging panel.

I was quite chuffed with my efforts till I saw some of the other entries. Very very clever and lots of class in execution and presentation. Congrats to other fellow winners!
