25% of Australias' current population were born overseas !

Therefore Australia's not even 100% Australian.

Where did this stat come from? Sounds dodgy.
But I know for a fact that 3 out of 4 people make up 75% of the population.

According to the stats, 22% of Australian citizens are born overseas. Thats not taking into account permanent residents. My old man has lived in Australia for close to 50 years but isn't a citizen. So its not hard to imagine that 25% of the population was born overseas.

Tassie probably has the highest proportion of people who were born in Australia and whose parents .......

Anyway why don't we send email to JP-Australia and request the name be changed to JP-Austria?

Can anyone tell me how JP Australia is Australian?

Can anyone tell my why starboards have both sides?
surely if their name is to be honest, they should only sell the right hand side of the board!

Telstra's service ain't too bad, it's just that everything about it is overpriced to hell!

As much I hate to admit it but I find Telstra's NextG network is second to none compared to anything else both here in Australia as well as overseas.

Yes, NextG has the odd black spot but by and large most of my overseas friends are impressed when they see coverage and performance data... Last year in Gnaraloo I had a 1.7 Mbit/sec down link connection on some days and mobile coverage on most. The mobile tower is approx 160 kms away.. that's outright scary and well above what theoretically should work.

My biggest gripe with Telstra (and most other companies) would be the use on none Australian call centers. Why is it that every time I talk to an Aussie Telstra call centre I get things done with a single call yet when I talked to someone from abroad the either can't help me or even worse can't comprehend what I am trying to communicate.

RE the original subject of JP-Australia not being Australian. I guess until the name Australia is being trade marked by the Australian government and only licensed to people providing jobs to Australians there is little you can do about it. Hell our government can't even enforce that Australian companies get first dips on government contracts.

Oh yes, the service is expensive but that's what happens when you have a product with little competition.

Now you're stretching the realms of credibility "Three wise men in Victoria"

What about the "starboard" rule?

Is that because everyone else has a chance of getting out of the way of one

What about Neil Pryde - that now owns JP-Australia? A few snippets:

'Born 1939, Te Aroha, New Zealand, Neil Pryde moved to Hong Kong in 1963 and represented Hong Kong at sailing in the 1968 Olympic Games. Since then he has raced in some of the world’s most famous yachting events, including the prestigious Sydney to Hobart race in Australia. Pryde is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA).' Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Neil_Pryde

'NeilPryde Ltd. is a privately held company - a partnership between Mr. Neil Pryde and the Shriro Group. With over 3000 employees, operations in more than 40 countries and 40 years of experience, Neil Pryde Ltd. is one of world’s biggest players in the marine and adventure sports markets.' Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Pryde

'Shriro is a 90-year-old family business with distribution rights to several worldwide brands, including names like Pioneer, Ricola, Samsung, Casio, Epson, Head and Mitsubishi Forklift. It also owns a number of "action sports" brands within the Neil Pryde group, where Shriro has been the majority shareholder for 15 years.... Shriro Group's headquarters has been in Hong Kong since the late 1940s - four decades after it was set up in northern China by the grandfather of present chairman, Mark Shriro. Today, it has over 3,000 employees in 13 countries and regions, and an annual sales turnover of HK$2.7 billion (US$350 million).'
