Seeing how Im really bored I just thought it might be interesting to hear some of everyones local sailing spot names.
Some are pretty self explanatory but others I dont know the origin and Ive lived here my whole life.
Heres some of the ones around Sydney's northern beaches we sail at.
Tin Shed, Brooky Bob's, No Man's, Lugga's, Butterbox, Vacant Lot,
Golf Course.

Oh! I thought you meant 'our' sailing names (nicknames if you like!)

I go by "He of large mass around belly and hirsute of shoulders"
and "Big Wake Maker!"

- spotx
- G spot
- ho'okipa
- retirement village
- crystals
- gearies
- roosters
- surgeon's table
- the poo
- mullas
- dutchies

Hey Leech, the Poo sounds like a good one. Let me guess, its either a sewerage outfall or just a really bad spot

Oh My GOD!!!!! One ommission:
Tombstones.
You should go outside and flagellate yourself with a piece of wet downhaul rope. And say sorry about 100times.

Apart from that I have some additons but I can't tell.

Dutchies at small groyne just south of Cottesloe - look for small car park, playground and lawn (rigging up on) above the groyne.

No man's and lugga are the breaks just south of the Dee Why lagoon near the pole at Long reef in Sydney. Butter box is north of the surf club and Makaha is the reef break on the north side of long reef point. I good wave in a SE wind & south swell!

What about Newport reef. I reckon it should be called Razorblades because of all the sharp little volcanic rocks that have appeared.

cheers

For all those people who are getting narky cos I mentioned their beloved local just remember there is a big difference between naming a spot and giving away its location!

Is that not why we have all these crazy codenames in the first place
