We didnt think you were coming, and I only took a 5m & 4m down thus today was crap. There ended being a bit more at wello but it started raining so I thought i'd call it a day... there was only one other person out at wello and it was a teabag. Yeah what did happen to our 40knots???

Gestalt next time you speak to Peter could you see how much a 5, 6.6 & 9m concept would cost (mates rates ). Gun sails is probably winning at the moment due to prices- Pat you really need to get Gun sails

Thanks gestalt I was not expecting so soon, I will leave it for a month or so till things settle down around here. I'm favouring the Guns though for the extra stability and price, I know the KA's have been going strong down at Sandy Point but to me Sandy point is one of those locations were sails have to go 45+ before I sit up and pay attention... I mean equipment-wise Mike went 40 on a slalom/freeride sail. I will definately try your 8.5 though, I would prefer to support an Aussie product.

Prove me wrong KA (they also need to put the colour-ways on their website)

nice one vando, bloody hell. 42knots.
today did you go out the front or along the bank? pity you can't use todays times in the speed trial tomorrow.
i was stuck at home on duty, so i closed all the windows, doors, and curtains and prenteded there was no wind around even ended up watching a kitesurfing vid. (it had windsurfing in the background).

padi. where ever you want to go i'm cool. train is good. forecast is for light winds so i'll bring the big stuff. will send MB soon. anyone else going?

i think i found new home at vic point. guys were saying they can get 2m waves at coochi.[}:)][}:)] the words tweak and crew were used some i'm in.

MKseven, could sell you my 8.3IQ for $100-150. it is very fast. rigs on a 490.

took out the wave board. good wind for the 5.7 in the middle my last run i managed to dredge back just before it died around 4pm. boy am i unfit..... had to have a bit of a break.

had a great time, will be back. there was definately some big holes in the wind though. is the wind always so light near the shore...?

no not like that. It had a surprising amount of westerly in it, probably southsouthwest. It was a strange day allround, including the wierd lack of rampy chop and some of the sailors were missing from saturdays session. It is a great spot for our winter direct southerlies, providing you get it wind-against-tide conditions, otherwise it's a constant fight to stay upwind. The train still offers the most tide-unaffected conditions, but gets a but monotonous after a while. The number of windsurfers seems to be on the increase over the last couple of years and u can just about go anywhere on the broadwater and sail with someone else, even in the surf now days. When i first started sailing in 2000/2001, you'd be lucky to see another windsurfer other than at the train. No doubt the seabreeze website has helped alot because it probably gives everyone a central communication point, and allows other sailors to see just how many folk are into the sport. I'd imagine folks like mr green and mr brown are rubbing their hands together in joy over the last 12 months even they have taken on the vertical erections again

hope to see u there again. come and say hi. I gave you guys a wave a few times but you were too busy doing your thing. we often get up to wello during winter

sorry haircut, didn't see the wave, wasn't being rude....

i am one of those that has come back to the sport after about a year off the water. i guess i picked the right time to start sailing again
if your up this way you should swing by victoria point some time as well (thompson esplanade). kind of like a mini redcliffe when the SE are working.
i am told the northern side goes off during strong NE (point halloran).
i haven't sailed there yet as i used to sail down the road from where i live in a NE but next summer i will sail point halloran. apparently the local council has a master plan for the area, will be landscaping the strip and will putin facilities etc.

planning to sail down the coast a fair bit over winter so will say hi next time. where you the guy sliding backwards?

also. which way does the tide run when it is outgoing at shearwater?

cheers jj

that was me

at shearwater the tide flows south when going out. It is the opposite at the train as the mouth is halfway between the two spots.
