Currumbin? Not good till next season now. It's had it's three sailable days for this year. However, I do hope there is one puff of wind left for the Tabou Classic

I'd be interested in going to Redcliffe with you

Is that Haircut that used to be Haircut a few thousand? If you haven't been to redcliff I think you'll love it. Wait for a bit of a southeaster though.

yes, it's meeee. i found my old password to my original haircut account. Is anyone interested in sailing there on weekend? If the brisbane wave boys go there, i'd imagine it must have jumpable waves?

cheers

hi haircut,

i'm keen... i have been there when the wind was up but had no gear. i have seen a few loops happen. there are waves. i am thinking Sutton's but i was going to ask my mates what they think. if anyone has any thoughts please let me know..

sunday is looking good.

from what i have been told the big wave spot is point halloran. needs a NE though. but i'm not talking open beach type of waves. big enough to do backward loops from. so i'm told.....

hi haircut,

it seems that the location has changed to victoria point. closer to where you are coming from. it is a bit tide affected as well. if the wind gets up it will be bumpy... not as bumpy as redcliffe but a nice crew of sailors anyways... let me know what you think..

ok, thanks for letting me know

Do you have any boards u can use in the waves? The forecast for next few days with the ESE prediction is generally ideal for currumbin, providing there is actually wind there, and being a sunday you'll usually get a a few sailors turning up. Keep checking the 15 minute observations till about 11.30am. If you don't see wind above 15 knots for coolangatta, i'd stick with redcliffe as the wind has a habbit of bypassing currumbin (probably the hills in the area). Watching the obs, redcliffe seems to have a pretty good track record for wind lately

anyway, i'll see how things are looking in the morning. I'd really like to have a sail at redcliffe. Just such a long hike to get there when the forecast isn't a sure thing and i live in currumbin.

cheers

cheers,

i've got a wave board. i will definately be down at currumbin in the next few weeks. have some mates keen on going in the surf but they have been unable to do it of late.

if it is not windy then the formula gear feeds the beast. if it's windy then i always go out on the wave board. i would love to look at a starboard aero 127 for light wind wave sailing. maybe perfect for currumbin.

unfortunately unless it is a public holiday i can't go during the week. work calls. easter is coming up however.

understand if you don't come up tomorrow, it is a long way for the chance of little wind. i will definately be there. this year i am trying to sail as many spots as possible.

not me, that was Northboy the chair police would have me carried away if i said that

tide is good for shearwater for this arvo if no wind here @ currumbin, which appears to be non existent again. what would you like to do today? have you ever been to redcliffe? would u be interested?

I'll come down to Currumbin if it looks to be windy but the safe bet will be shearwater this arvo- perhaps Chris can do with the company. keep me posted on conditions down there and where your heading.

was a good late session sail.... 10-12knots with some steep swells. big ones maybe .5m

oh yeah,

and went screaming down one of the bigger swells hooked in and powered up. got to the bottom and CRACK!!!!!

new tail design on the formula gear. guess it was a bit shallow for the 70cm fin in the break zone.

padi took out a 46cm fin and warned me before we left. bugger, should have listened.

10-12 knots, i don't feel so bad about not going up now The obs said 15 knots or so. Did you damage your board?

it definately would of hit 15 for a while, out the back was 15 most of the time.

board is not good. padi said "now i know what a 70cm weed fin looks like."

everytime we sail together i break something. he thinks i am accident prone. board will be fixed i have no doubt. next stop currumbin.
