So have the locals decided whether the breakthrough is a good or bad thing yet?

Did my first backloop on gumby tack at that location - nice clean ramp.
So... maybe. :-)

Mark we always get a layer of silt from rain events.
But the times they are a Changin..
35years of fun on crystal blue water may be over for our normal location.
You like skimboarding??
Plenty of sand around.

It is a problem. Rain falls from the sky without any mud in it, so the problem is with development and over-population. It has affected the fishing too. Clean sand may be a valuable resource in future years. We could bottle some of the clean stuff so people could look at it and say, "back in the old days...".

How do you get a sail to power a skim board?

from an ex locals point of view it's a very good thing. i can't think of anywhere in qld as good.

i've had some memorable sessions there.
had some really bad ones too. enough that now i know when it's worth the drive.
looking forward to trying it out during the SW winds over winter.

Massive changes still taking place.
At lowtide you can walk to Bribie North.

I wondered what was a "Lotsa Tree" so I Googled it. Apparently they grow everywhere. They are also known to produce both nuts and lemons from the Lotsa Lemon Tree and Lotsa Macademia Tree. They grow everywhere! Google even provides some great pictures so you know that it is true because you can always trust Google when you type in a question.

Heres a LOTSA tree...
This Hightide sand bank used to be the Main channel along Bribie.
Heading North the
Old bar almost inaccessable unless on Hightide.
Constantly widening Bribie Bar.

Looking North to town. The ever increasing sandbank.
Can almost Walk to Bribie North without getting wet above the Knees at Lowtide.

Tricky things those LOTSA trees. After you run into them they morph into a THATSA tree.

Had a good sail there on Tuesday - see track log noting that I didn't actually sail over the land ( that was the Garmin 945 watch having bad datapoints, but no way to verify it except visually! )

- The northern sandbank is now about 2m above the sea-level, vs last time I was out there it was at-sea-level.
- At low-tide there is nice smooth inner section between the two islands, which allows for good starboard-tack jumping.

Good for lowtide action. Mightve changed angles a bit though. Bit of a bend in the middle.

No , but it does have different road rules . eg , Stop at a roundabout and look left and right . That's not the bad driving , that's what you have to do to stay safe . Also indicators are optional . You kind of get used to it .
