Seems like everyone has their own ideas i do agree with Redcliffe having more wind but personally i believe not a nice place to live and not much work. Manly and Wello both good also but a bit of a drive unless you live local and then you need money..........like Vando.
Obviously i pick the Gold Coast except in Westerly(but it is possible) the down side is the Broad Water gets very busy especially in the school holidays, parking and roads are getting congested also.I hear what people are saying about the dirty water but mate last week i was sailing with dolphins and the water was crystal especially high tide, anyway theres always the ocean, most of the time you can live on the Goldie and be 15 mins from your favorite spot, anyway we are full go to Noosa!
Actually you will be surprised at Redcliffe, its becoming a lot nicer place to live. I live a block from the water and could'nt be happier. The new bridge will be completed by mid 2010 and maybe the rail line MIGHT come one day. There are some big plans for new shopping centres too, and real estate prices are starting to snow ball. There are some really nice restarurants now and new pubs too. I bus to the city every day and although the trip is a bit long, you can read an make use of your time.
When it comes to sailing, although everyone goes to Queens now, Margate/Scotts Point used to be the Mecca, I have seen some epic days there and sailors getting absolutely huge air. This spot can deilver epic conditions. Suttons is great to in a strong SSE....... has my vote
