Finally! looking forward to hearing more about these:www.facebook.com/share/v/1ExACfqBJM/

Once they come out i'll be ordering them! Fuse integrated into the front wing has been on my wishlist, looking forward to hearing how they perform compared to the v1

Sounds good, stoked I don't need a new mast and/or new stabs. Looking forward to seeing the specs for these.

Probably be March/April next year before they are available though.

Just starting with parawing, but i'll wait for that sfv2 before i buy any new foil now. Currently using the ma850v2 and 1050v2 for it, but missing the glide as expected. Everything is soooooo slowwww with north.

Looks like they have been busy behind the scenes with some new materials.

I would like to get one of the new SF V2’s, as my only gripe with the V1 was lack of top end.

The new SF foils look like they could be good. The integrated fuse does look pretty thick compared to some current competitors, but keeping the low end with improved high end would be great. I'm sure they will be more expensive as a partial monoblock but still cheaper than a whole new setup. I could at least reuse my HM mast. I think everything else would be new so save about half the cost of a new setup.

That said, I think I'm still jumping ship to another setup. Talking about launching sometime in 2027 for the new SF and end of 2027 for that vapor they showed doesn't really inspire confidence they are going to catch up when it's already been a while since and update and there doesn't seem to be any chat about anyone actually trying these foils yet. I don't want to wait 6 more months then find out they aren't really that good. That combined with the bad 2025 nova pros and having replaced so much of the team when they left NZ I just don't have much confidence north is going to be investing enough in the foil brand for it to be a good idea for me to keep investing in it.

I still hope these are great, I'll probably still have my current setup so will track one down if I hear good things when they come out!

The SFv2 sound great, eager to hear what the verdict will be! If it is faster and glidier than the v1 like they say it'll for sure be a great foil. Glad to hear they are planning to release this year still, then i'll be able to get my hand on them in time for spring.

The nova ultra also looks interesting, curious to learn how it will be in practice and what pricing to expect. I had the 2024 nova pro's and except for the weight they were great wings.

Nova pro's '24 were great wings, too heavy but super stable, direct and pretty fast. The leading edge diameter was a bit too thick and the shiftlock system adds nothing but weight. Things changed when i got the '25 nova pro's. The 4.2 '25 was the worst wing i tried. Horrible low end, bouncing around like crazy and was oversheeting on the front hand . I like the brand, but if i swap back to them on their wings, i would like to see a lighter wing, no more shiftlock and a well balanced feel like the '24 version. I'm currently on the XPS MKII and still really happy with those, no complaints anywhere. Looking forward to the sfv2 foils!

I’ll be getting the 660/770SF. Hope they get moving faster on the Vapor. Not like there isn’t some very nice models out there they can demo (F4 Piranha, Foilcraft ect). Like a lot of peeps, I’ve gravitated towards wanting something fun to surf doing a DWer, rather than straight line speed and glide.

You see the specs anywhere other than what was on the video? I'm very interested in what that 770 is 😀

Uli was the Product Manager for Foils.

Danyon Watchorn was the designer.

The SFv2 was one of the last projects that the old NZ based North Product Development team completed prior to the new team starting in Netherlands.
In fact, most of the products presented in AWSI for kite and foil was the old team, we singed off on most of them end of 2025. This gave the new team time to settle and find thier place.

The original SF was designed designed over 4 years ago, it had the best bottom, roll and yaw combo in the industry, but very little top end. At the time we designed it for surfing small swell.

The new SFv2 has addressed the high end speed, it has a solid top end without compromising the other key surf/carve characteristics. It's balanced and easy to use, but it now keeps going faster on the top end.

The mono block wing connected to the fuse helps stiffen up the responsive and reduces the drag and flex, this makes it super responsive and efficient. New + construction has had a massive effect that is not to be underestimated. Best thing is that you can still use your old masts and stabs within the same Sonar eco system.

I'm looking fwd to the crew testing these wings and hearing the feedback, I have been riding the SF880 for 18 months and I love it.
With my body weight, 94kg dad bod, the 990 is epic for long pump surf sessions and the 770 for big wave Foil Driving, the 660 is amazing for powered winging, the 550 for towing... they all have the same feel, we had to redesign the foils a couple of times and this is why it took so long to get to market, we really wanted to make sure this was the all around GO TO SURF foil.

I personally really like it with the S125 stab because it is soo loose, but ya might wanna size up if you are planning to pump for longer periods.

Hope you enjoy.

I now get to ride all the brands in public and I can't wait. I used to have to benchmark designs in private ;-)

I went to order a SF V2 and was told that it won’t be in the country until December this year, maybe I miss understood.

Decided to wait until it was closer before placing an order.

Ordered a midi pro and that won’t get delivered until late October.

Hi all. Missed the announcement of the sfv2, so I recently got a sf830 (second hand). Until then I was using a ma1050 with s210 stab.

I got the sf830 because the ma1050 lacks glide and pump when trying to surf the lake wind bumps on the big lakes in the Netherlands. Tried it with my s210 stab, which worked but it felt really slow. Felt like my wing had plenty of power to go faster, but the foil didn't want to. While that doesn't matter much for surfing the bumps, I also like to throw in a jump here and there, for which I want a bit more speed.

So I'm looking for a new/better stabilizer to unlock more speed and a looser feeling because the sf830 + s210 feels more stable than the ma1050 with the same stabilizer. But I'm overwhelmed by the options. My current shortlist is s185, s178, s145 or the s142.

The conditions I will be using this foil combo in will be around 20 knots with up to 1m lake wind bumps. If the wind gets to about 24-25 knots I switch to windsurfing. Any less than 16 knots or flat water I switch back to the ma1050 + s210 combo.

Not sure if it matters: I'm 56kg without wetsuit. Use a north seek 68L and usually a 3m wing.

Curious to hear your thoughts on stabilizer recommendations!

S145 will noticeably bring your speed and fun factor w almost no loss in pitch stability. Same w the 142 which will glide better but lose just a pinch of ripping turns.

I get confused as a try to pair my MA1050 with an S208 stabilizer and it doesn`t seem to work at all. No speed or pump. Interesting that I get a better result using my MA1500+ S270 beginner setup.

These wings seem very sensitive to mast position in the tracks and to getting the right amount of front-foot pressure. I was genuinely surprised by how much speed I gained just by moving the mast about 2 cm forward.

MA850v2 + S178v1 is still the best combo for me. Fast, stable and good for jumping. I use thhe combo in all wind speeds. I also have the MA1050v2 but i won't use it allot. It does pair really well with the s178v1 or S208 / s210 no issues at all. I'm waiting for the sfv2 770, because all i really miss now is glide. The ma850v2 is just not for pumping. It needs constant pressure of the wing.

Just to follow up on the stabilizer/SF890 discussion — I haven’t ridden the 890 myself, but I have spent some time on the SF1080, and that’s a pretty slow wing. If I remember correctly, with the S210 stab I could only get around 25–26 km/h out of it. With the same stab and the MA1050v2 I was getting about 33 km/h.

What’s interesting is that with the MA850v2 + S178, I’ve only managed around 36 km/h so far.

So I’m wondering if the stabilizer might not be the main issue here. It could simply be that the SF890 itself isn’t a particularly fast wing. My guess would be that it’s a few km/h slower than the MA850v2, which could put it roughly in the same speed range as the MA1050v2.

What board is it? On some boards there may not be enough room in the tracks for North foils, as they tend to work better with the mast further forward.

The SF680 and SF530 are faster, anything larger and they don't have great top end. However they go slow really really well and can carve for days, they are surf focused foils after all. The UHM masts give you a few more kmhs and I would size down the stabs. I use the S145 and S122 in all conditions. The older stabs are just too big imo. When I put the SF690 on I do have the mast moved forward in the box, it does not push back as much as the larger foils when on larger waves - which makes it so sweet for the fast windy stuff.

I use a Cabrinha Code 5.0" model. I wonder if what might be a matching issue between front wing and stabilizer is that my MA1050 is V1 version and not V2.

Completely agree on the stabilisers. Once I had the sf680 and s122 I rarely rode anything else in swell. I sometimes feel the prevalence of large legacy stabs in the north range has skewed people's thinking, I had to beg, cajole and threaten a number of my north riding friends to try anything sub-200cm2!

I am looking for experience with S125 and SF830. After riding the dw830, c650, uhm85 and S142 for some time I am using the SF830 again on same setup. I am going to Jericoacoara and first thought is to bring both wings, but then i read so much of the SF680. Shall i sit on the fence and wait for sfv2, buy the s125 now and combine with sf830 and buy sfv2 later or find a sf680 on sale. I have good experience with going down in stab size. S125 sounds tiny compared to sf830 and it is not a recommended combo from North. On the other hand i think North want to keep the adviced combos tite.
