As a 75kg newb, would a 4m and 5.5m cover 10-30knots. I just bought a new 5.5m slick plus 1900cm2 foil. Planning to buy a 4m and 1 or 2 smaller foils in the future.

I'm 75kg use a 4 and 5m.

Can use the 4 from 12 to 20 comfortable.

At 25 it's a handful.

I can get going in 10knots with a 1000cm2 Axis Art 999 and a 5m. You should get you going well below 10knots.
Foil lift = k X Area X Windspeed x windspeed
20x20=400
30x30=900

4m in 20knots = 1.8m in 30knots

In true 30knots people use 2-3m sails.

The 5.5 and 4m with the 1900cm2 foil should be okay in that wind range. You will be a little over-powered on the 4m as it gets to 30 knots, but it is manageable.

I am 76kg (75.5 yo) and can fly in 10 to 20kn on my 5.5 Slick with Axis Black series 930 HPS with 350p stab and 105l Fanatic TE board. A 1900 wing is big at your weight as at 16kn plus I often use 740 BCS. Jybing is way easier on smaller wings for me.

Ok, I wasn't expecting that, sounds like I have to reevaluate my 4m.
So for my 75kg, what size wing & foil combo to comfortably handle Perth typical sea breeze (say 18-28kn?)

similar experience for me:
i have a 5.5 and 4.0 slick.
this is good for 10-24 knots. after that i windsurf.

if you're not hitting the water until you have a full & consistent 18 knots then you could go for a 4.5 and a 3.5

So 3.5m is too big after 24knts? What's your weight & foil size (I'm assuming that's a socially acceptable question in this context haha)
btw I just bought the 5.5 slick.

No, 3.5 would be fine after 24 knots,
I have the 4.0, which while i can hang onto it in 25 knots, it isnt fun. hence why i suggest going a bit smaller for those conditions.
If 25 knots plus was a regular thing for me, i would go for a 3.5 / 3.0

im 77kg, riding a 1800 HA foil.

from my limited experience in WA, dont discount how many days are actually 14/15 knots, especially earlier in the afternoon.
The 5.5 is excellent for 10-16. you'll love it.

I'm 80 kg on a 78lts board, the Slick 2.5 is good from anything above 20knots. I've used it comfortably up to 33knots so far, I was the only one out.

Given I have a 5.5, I'm assuming a 3.5 would be better so I don't have a gap in my wind range?

I think the gap between 5.5 and 3.5 is too big.

On the basis you have a 5.5m as your light wind wing, I would be grabbing 4 and 3.
