The Platinum Duotone masts are their top of the line mast with 100% carbon that s why the price .made for the warp .There is a 90 which is a bit more $ friendly . I have not used a Ezzy on a Duotone sail .but have used a duotone mast on a Ezzy sail .both are constant curve so I don't think you will have to much problem using a Ezzy on a Duotone .if it was a full on race sail yes maybe .so I would suspect the Ezzy will work fine on a Duotone free race sail .
A 8,4 is a great add to the Quiver ...don't waste your money on another 7,8 if you already have one even though the 7,8 M5 is a great sail ..I have one .good power .but 8,4 feels way bigger and great to have on the lighter days .maybe even look for a 8,5 or 8,6 .2nd hand 😎
I found 10.6 and 11 longboards difficult to turn around in waves ..well just slow ...as its still a big board ....sunova make lots of performance longboards ,if you are still learning ,be careful not to go too small A friend of mine still rides his 9.5 x145 litre Sunova steeze .he also has ridden longboards in his past .you will eventually go smaller .probably a 9 which is a typical longboard size 9 x 30 or 31 wide would be a size you will end up on .if your able to take the leap go the 9 revolution ,or surf. the shaper Bert of Sunova is a longboard so lots to choose from .check the site . You really could ride any 9 foot board now .doesn't have to be a longboard shape .
Just thought a post a vid to finalise the 2026 lion .its a great blasting sail and really happy with it .It has great speed and easy to handle . the materials are a bit different to previous models and it seems really stiff to start ,it has stretched a bit now and feels a lot better. Other than that I'm happy to have it in the Quiver .They are still built tough as ever and it is a little lighter to older model s
on my new Tabou manta .bottom side .front part is gloss ,as its not in the water anyway once on the plane ,rear from half way is sanded ,looks and feels more like 400 grit , well it makes a noise when you run your hand on it .might even be 200 😀.looks like a water test is in the near future .I know in West oz ,weed does not stick to sanded weed fins , My friends fins where gloss - ish and collecting weed ,mine was sanded and not collecting ..I regular sand mine ...a quick sand to theirs and no weed build up .Does this mean sanded surfaces are more slippery .I don't know .but the test suggest it .
You'll be lucky to find a 34 DT .I found a 37 DT carbon fin for my 73 Isonic ,solid as a rock when fitted and short bolts .😎.also have 41 ,45 .all DT . Can you really have too many fins ...nah ....👍
As mr Elmo says ,DT will carry a bigger fin like the Z .Fins ...deep Tuttle is stronger ,if your using 42 and over maybe it is worth getting .also using 8,5 sails it feels more firm under foot ,eg ,Isonic ,73 wide has deep Tuttle ,67 wide normal Tuttle . Patrik 120 litre boards up will usually have a deep Tuttle .Both DT and Tuttle work fine ...
Tardy said.. IT hasn't stopped blowing from the east and SE here in the South Pacific for the past 6 weeks 20-30 knots most days ,not a good direction for sailing for us ,not good for the fishing boats ,we are eating steak now 😀 bring on the S W wind please .it certainly is not dry .we had nothing (sw wind ) last year , lets hope it is different this year .sea water temperatures are up for this time of year . 22 c but early days . Lets hope for a windy winter guys .
😂Tardy .... tuna steak and crayfish one day eye fillet the next ...you hang in their buddy💪 ...we've got your back 😂
good run down John .I have a 8,7 & 8'8 .SPX .both 133 litres .I like the narrowness of the 8'7 better .and it sometimes feels more stable . One of my liked boards was the 9,1 Acid .no nose type board .it was 30,5/8 wide .I didn't have trouble standing on it and it paddled amazing .Big wave count on that board . enjoy the Ride 🔥

The new Starboard range is pretty good .I would choose the same width or a volume you are interested in . I Personally like the 67 and 73 Isonic. they seem to handle chop well ,I would like a 119. curve for mucking around on .
Tardy said.. I would suggest going to Germany In October ,I remember landing and taking off .but had a good time .😂
Drugs are bad Tardy. Healthier option would be go to Amsterdam, they have healthy omelette's i think. Go eat those and dream of sailing back home 🍻 When is your Pacific sojourn happening?
No Man Octoberfest is a great time in Germany .lots of beer .and everyone is happy .and a great atmosphere ,I've been to the bulldog cafe in Amsterdam don't you worry but that was when I was young ,6 week count down for Aqua water in Aitutaki .gopro footage coming up .I hope you get lots of windsurfing in Mobz .take a good wetsuit .
Just about to hit ,is the new ghost up ,a narrower tail for more powerful waves .I think the sizes may need to change as the 8'7 is a bit low for me and the 9'2 is 143 litre a bit big ,but early days . shape looks great . I hope Rick our man will fill in the new details ,looks sweet .
