Probably be ok with the larger sails but not the 5.7

No problem, just need to load the fin slowly and once up to speed the board will fly off the wind, only negative is you won't point as high and will let go in chop if too back foot heavy.

Just use a slightly smaller tube and wrap a few rubber bands around the end, push it into the broken tube and will pull out.
