Hi Bryan, what’s your next smallest wing to the 2.5 hybrid and at what wind strength do you switch down? Any tracks or impressions of upwind angle and speed of 2.5 hybrid vs 2.7 orbit? Cheers
Having ridden the 4m I can confirm extended range. Go .5 bigger than V1 and you’ll have a bit more low end and a lot more top end. Concertinas very neatly off the A lines too. Packs a bit smaller than V1.
Brian, thanks for the 2.7 follow up, though it probably raises more questions than it answers. And selling them this soon is a pretty strong statement.
What were the downsides of the 2.7? Is it still the lack of playfulness, or are there factors of performance, range, stash-deploy and comfort?
(I can sacrifice playfulness if I’m going to approach 1:1 up/down ratio in 30knots.)
The 3.5 looks super clean in Gwen’s videos. I can’t imagine the hybrid competing for pure VMG?
