'Coastguard Boating Education's Kayak safety module is now available online' Coastguard Boating Education

New Zealand's Coastguard Boating Education now have available the first of a new series of online, interactive education modules.

Small craft, inclusive of Kayak and powered water craft, currently represent the fastest growing sector of the market with their users over represented in the drowning statistics. With many cruising sailors strapping a kayak onto their deck before they go cruising, the tuition is invaluable, and while this module was originally aimed at a New Zealand market, most of it is applicable all over the world.

The on-line interactive kayaking module is available on the organisation's website www.cbes.org.nz

The module allows learners to live through real life situations without the dangers and cost. With a help link on each page, advice and links to related information, readers will share a real time kayaking excursion with John and Maia.

Making mistakes on-line is acceptable and can be easily remedied. However once you are on the water there is no delete button or escape key. Learning about the correct procedures and preparation before you embark on a trip can make your day out more enjoyable.
