Justin Vittecoq won the 2011 Canadian Optimist Championships and a berth to the 2012 Worlds, beating out his sister Corilea Vittecoq to win the 2011 Canadian Optimist Nationals, his sister placing fourth, both from Hudson YC.

Jared Collinson, in second, won out over his younger brother Noah who placed seventh both of whom sail for RCYC. Evert Ehvert, a team mate from RCYC placed third and another team mate, Matti Muru placed fifth. Cecilia Woolman, placed sixth, in front of her brother, Michael in eighth, both from the LOOT team.

The hurricane and rain held off for a beautiful final day, albeit light winds. PRO Colin Mann did an outstanding job of getting in 12 very good races with square lines. Michael O'Connor arranged for the ever popular dunk tank, fabulous food, a magician, and the highlight of a freshwater boat/child washdown at the end of each day by the Lunenberg and District Fire Truck!
