Department of Fisheries WA - Threadfin (often called threadfin salmon) occur as a series of separated stocks along Western Australia's northern coast, which means that targeted fishing could result in local depletions. The finding is part of a Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC) report of a collaborative research project between the Department of Fisheries WA, Northern Territory Fisheries, Queensland's Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation and James Cook University. The project examined the stock structure and stock boundaries of the blue threadfin and the king threadfin across Northern Australia.
