National Zapcat Championship - Zapcats Fly in Fistral Finale

'Last weekend the 2010 RYA National Zapcat Championship drew to a close at Fistral Beach in Newquay.' RYA
Zapcats originated from South Africa where since the early 80's local crews have raced inflatable boats down treacherous rivers and along rugged coastlines. They were developed from life saving surf rescue craft for racing and leisure boats. Zapcats are designed to cope with a huge variety of sea conditions from flat calm lakes to large breaking surf. This weekend the latter was certainly put into practice as the 20 Championship teams were faced with messy surf of 8-10ft and offshore winds in the final event in the championships 10th anniversary year.
