Second powerboat racing accident at Taree

'The Culprit'
Yesterday one of the best known powerboat racers 61 year old Brian McCosker of Tamworth was killed when his Blown Alcohol Division (BAD) open cockpit racing powerboat flipped during a race at the Taree Aquatic Boat Club regatta on the Manning River.

Today another shocking accident in the same division when American driver Dave Bryant flipped She's the Culprit at an estimated 240km per hour.

As happened yesterday, divers were quick to recover the driver from his upturned boat, CPR was commenced on the unconscious driver, who was immediately ferried to hospital. There has been no confirmation of his condition at this time.

The Easter Classic Meeting celebrating the 60th year of Power-boat racing on the Manning River was abandoned immediately
