The inaugural Hungry Jacks UIM Unlimited Displacement World Powerboat Championships are just two weeks away and the Murray River township of Gol Gol is throbbing with excitement at the approaching event. Scheduled for October 15 to 17, the championships have attracted the world's fastest Unlimited Displacement boats, including the top-rated US entry 'K 69', capable of 155mph (250km/hr). Gol Gol, the unusually-named town on the banks of the Murray River, is in New South Wales, but is directly across the river from the Victorian city of Mildura. In fact, many regard Gol Gol as virtually a northern suburb of Mildura. ...
