Princess of Aruba

Freestyle world champion, Sarah-Quita Offringa, has been awarded with the 'athlete of the year' award in Aruba.

Following another fantastic year on the PWA World Tour in 2009, Sarah-Quita Offringa (Starboard, Gaastra) has won this prestigious award for the 3rd time in a row!

There are not many people with world titles to their name, and not many that have them before their 18th birthday. Well, top women's freestyle competitor, Sarah-Quita, could boast about two, and the council of Aruba have recognised her for these achievements.

Sarah-Quita will be competing in both freestyle and slalom this year. It'll be interesting to see if she can take her hugely successful windsurfing career that step further by dominating the race course. She certainly has the skills, the competitive outlook, and she finished 2nd at her debut slalom event last season...

Well done Sarah-Quita and good luck for 2010!
