In 2011 Youp Schmit (JP / NeilPryde / Dakine) made a mighty impact on the freestyle fleet, blowing the judges away with his radical moves to walk away with the under 18^'s youth freestyle title.

Obviously extremely highly motivated to climb up the rankings in 2012, he has dedicated his time to training freestyle as much as possible. Over the last few months Schmit has been living the dream in Cape Town, sailing whenever its windy, and it certainly shows.

In his training video Schmit is pulling some incredibly powerful burners and konos on the lake of Rietvlei, and super-clean double moves in between the waves. Schmit is certainly going to make a big impression in 2012.
