US Slalom Champion 2016

Phil Soltysiak is the newly crowned 2016 USWA National Slalom Champion. In a wind shortened event at Cole Park in Corpus Christi, Texas. Phil sums up this event, "I went into the event hoping to make it on the podium in slalom. I opened up the first day winning the first elimination on my Sailworks 7.8 NX and 114 ISonic and taking 4th in the second elimination. I was pretty stoked to be leading after day 1 as I haven't spent much time on slalom gear this winter.

Everything truly is bigger in Texas. Big sails, big boards, big fins, big gear bags and a big event. The 2016 US Windsurfing Nationals held down in Corpus Christi was a great event with 50+ competitors. Not only were the best US windsurfers there, but also top racers representing Turkey, France (Martinique), England and of course me representing Canada.
