I was there on Sunday when the Rock Machine thugs turned up.

The sergeant at arms and gimp squad looked out of place and looked like they wee looking for a fight.

My girlfriend said "theses guys look scary" and we pretty much left straight away to avoid trouble.

The thing that annoys me is that the bouncers let a group of known trouble makers in and they proceeded to shake there hands and give them hugs while at the bar.

I think the bouncers should be made part accountable for the poor guys death and any statements that they have given to the police should be non valid if not perverting the course of justice with possible false statements

I love this place and have never seen any dramas in the front bar and up stairs, now its gone to ****!

What do you think?

You should contact the cops with this witness account, or at least Crime Stoppers where you can have a little anonymity . One thing I learnt many years ago, however, is that the only thing that counts is bodies in court to testify. No amount of anonymous statements, and no amount of signed stat. decs. will have any effect.

Like you, I'd be more than a little tentative too - no condemnation here.

Agree, these types should be taken off the street.

The problem is that the bouncers are either friends or part of the "Bikie" club. If they are a member of a "gang" they, the bouncers should not be able to work in the industry.

Imo these clubs should be not be alowed to operate like in SA. The sooner this happens the better!!

Agreed also.
they are a bunch of non personality cowards who cover themselves in tatts and facial hair and bully anybody in their way, (although, only when they have the superior numbers or firepower). They should be shut down using whatever means possible.

Its ok when you get past the age of 25 you will learn that drinking in clubs and pubs is only for seedy old divorcees alco's and gamblers. You'd rather save 7 dollars a beer and build your own bar.
Why would you take your misses to that seedy pub anyways. My misses would of appreciated nice fish and chips on the grass.
My suggestion is if you hang out at places like clubs and pubs you would expect to see that kind of assaults bikie related or not..

But then again a few years back i witnessed an total Jerry springer at the ravenswood pub....There was a model contest on (anyone remember that duzy) lol
There was families eating there dinner overlooking about 30 bikies and police and other people stabbing and punching each other. They eventually shut down the entire pub and kicked everyone out.

the obh is one of my favourite locations for a quiet beer - such a great view and usually a really nice crowd too - a mix of ages and a nice laid back scene

such a shame something like this had to happen there - what goes through somebody's head to make them throw a fellow human out of a second story glass window ? my guess is ice rage..

I think you have hit the nail on the head, they prob watched some UFC before going there as well just to make matters worse.

Disclaimer :: Not having a go at UFC as a sport but what watching it does to some idiots

news.ninemsn.com.au/national/8247159/wa-bikie-associate-facing-murder-charge

A bikie associate accused of throwing a man through a pub window so he fell seven metres to his death has made a brief appearance in the Perth Magistrates Court.

Stefan Pahia Schmidt, 25, an associate of the Rock Machine motorcycle gang, was charged on Monday night with murder.

Schmidt, who appeared before Magistrate Joe Randazzo, was wearing a black hooded jumper and jeans as he sat in the dock of the court.

Police allege Schmidt grabbed Andy Marshall, 29, and threw him through a window on the second floor of the Ocean Beach Hotel in Cottesloe, in Perth's western suburbs, on Sunday about 9pm (WST).

Security footage shows Mr Marshall speaking to two women before the attack.

Police believe the women were also talking to Schmidt and members of the Rock Machine gang.

Mr Marshall was taken to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital with head and spinal injuries and died on Monday morning.

He was a drummer in Perth band Rich Widow who posted a tribute on their Facebook page describing Mr Marshall as the type of person who made friends easily and was incapable of making an enemy.

"He was always quick to see the lighter side of any situation and took on any challenge with enthusiasm and his unforgettable smile," the band wrote.

The band said the consequences for anyone responsible for Mr Marshall's death and the broader concern about the culture of violence in Perth were secondary matters to them.

"We lost a brilliant drummer, an inspiring character and a close friend," they said.

Schmidt's lawyer Malcolm Ayoub said he would request police provide CCTV footage of the incident when he next appeared in court.

The 25-year-old was remanded in custody and will appear in the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on May 18.

Can't say I'm terribly surprised. Every time I've been to or walked passed the OBH it's been filled with bogan douche bag scum. The kind that love eye balling everyone because they're just so badass.

Nothing like a country crowd...so they say

How do pubs get away with not having security glass (break proof - not just safety glass) fitted to 2nd story windows??

Pizzed shenanignas - even tools mucking about - and windows high above the street is a recipe for disaster.

Mark is on the money. Bloke was trying to make some cash playing music. In this town you can't be choosy about where you get gigs.

Sad for his family, friends and band.

Piece of sh!t bikies are scum. Try hard, ice-fiend, roid munchin morons!!

If I was the family I would be looking at suing

It is illegal for the pub to let in people at all if they are reputed to be prone to violence, drunkenness or are reputed drug dealers (words to that effect anyway) - even if they are sober and behaving.

I'd sue the pub and the bouncers personally especially if it appeared to ppl there like Torch that they were mates with the rock machine scum

Such a sad story, I wonder has anyone queried the integrity of the window, the building code requires laminated windows with structural integrity at height.

Ok just read the full report in the West Australia this morning.
Was under the impression that they went there to "take him out"
The victim dosent seem like he knew his attackers.
Condolences and compassion for the fambily.
Them bikie thugs should never of been allowed into a liscenced venue for that reason.
No one deserves that.

Torch You made a good decision to leave when you did. Id would of done the same.

Too late for condolences and compassion with all that other rubbish you have written.

It's never too late to recognize one's own errors, have the intestinal fortitude to admit it and then gumption to correct it,

By all accounts here in NZ he was an all round nice guy and was in the wrong place at the wrong time as stated by the police
Sadly his cousin was recently murdered at his farm gate
The family have had a lot to deal with without this....very sad

This is a pretty hot & emotional topic, and people are reporting each other all over the place.

What happened was tragic.

Please treat each other with respect, lots of people are pretty upset about the incident.

What I can't get my head around is the idea of " being in the wrong place at the wrong time" as expressed by the acting superintendent, David Bryson. I figured that Andrew Marshall was actually in the right place at the right time to enjoy a couple of beers with mates on a Sunday night. The same can't be said for the Dross that chucked him through the window, hey? HE was in the wrong place at the wrong time - wrong head-space, wrong place, wrong actions, wrong reactions. Wrongness all round. The can will be the RIGHT place for the germ and if it's sentenced to LIFE then that will be the RIGHT time, too. Right time, right place! Bingo!!
Oh, and there are always uglier, bigger, nastier boys inside who'll want to leave their mark, so to speak, on a newcomer...

You put your finger on it Silvio, if our heroes cops were doing a bit more " keeping the bastards out of town" against (speed trap) money raising for mr Barnett new office maybe then no innocent bystander would need to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. The cop master attitude is “well **** happens” .Not good enough mate!

Yep, Tony Abbott said the same thing in Afghanistan. Which appears to me is what they say when someone else's death won't directly effect them!
