Yes often find it is the case that the Cabrinha logo is best viewed from a distance...(approx 30M). Bundeep was that you at StKilda? if so then I found it reasonably funny

It has to be said that Cabrinha seems to have a challenger in Victoria in the shape of those god awful seagull looking Nash things. Every lunatic and dangerous ba$tard seems to be riding one of those now.

For a car metaphor, Cabrinha is the Toyota Camry. Boring as hell but they do everything right all the time and never break down.

Slingshot is more of a Nissan Skyline but could also be a V8 ute.

Flysurfer takes the Volvo crown and Peter Lynn are more like old Saabs.

Ozone are a bit like the WRX. Lots of noise and fury but ...

i think this topic is a load of cr#p its not the kite you need to worry about its the rider and if i was going to worry about any of the riders its the learners that are buying 03 04 05 c kites of ebay and expecting to be able to ride them!!!!

slingshot is more like a tuk tuk from a third world country, the ******r keeps breaking down. The cabrinha is like the Toyota Hilux that was on top gear.

Is slingshot like a nissan skyline because it's good at breaking?

The IDS system is the best thing to come out in kiteboarding

Have to love the way that a savvy advertising campaign and making up a brand specific name for something 50% of other kites do the same.

Instant Death System

IDS is probably ok in 18 knots... ^^^
but in 30 knots a single-line flagging system is the 'OFF' switch on any power kite.

Would this mean that you have changed your views on the " Death Leash " . Im glad you have come over from the Dark Side

NO. ^^^
But I do have a single-line flagging system but I don't attach my body to it.

Totally. They tell the world that you are a kook and a space invader.

I always give Cabrinha riders a very wide berth, just to on the safe side.

And Beersy said:

Yours is bust, it's held together with tape and spare parts and should probably be scrapped... Dump it in the next tree you cruise past

The irony of the post was obviously lost on you two. If you took your intellect and put it in a bottle you would have to fill it with compressed air to fill the vacuum. I worked as a technician in a Fashion School and it became very obvious very quickly that people who kept their eye on fashion usually had a sexual leaning that was decidedly distasteful. You and Beersy aren't perhaps doing stuff to one another are you!

I rarely miss a session because I have a bust kite because I have quite a few. I just happen to prefer the Cabrina on the water.

If it is important to you guys to look like fairies that is fine by me. Just announce yourselves if you are in the showers and I will wait awhile.

I like your analogies. But I must take issue with ozone bit. I'm sure the WRX tag is a compliment. But I would go more for Honda - good build quality, does everthing well, good safety system.

hmmmm- Cab kites are lame, they are attracted to trees and they have a large percentage of kooks on them, all fair calls.

Somebody nicknamed mine the mardi gras kite yesterday...

For my 2 cents worth I like it and I will keep riding it...everyone I hand it to for a try seems to buy one- there were another 3 brand newies down my beach on the weekend, that's how nice they are to ride

Tried the 2009 12m switchblade on the weekend. I can't really fault it, very nice boost, goes upwind fine, easy to ride in gusts, downloops well. The major problem with this kite is that your mates won't be able to find you anymore because everyone in Sydney has one.

The ups on the new fone bar is bullet proof check it out next time you are at the beach, and as a bonus i allways know where it is and dont have to worry about loosing it. If you really want to ride wakestyle you shouldnt be breaking any chicken loops because wouldnt you be unhooked

I dont really want to ride wakestyle anyway i just want to go fast. What is the fastest kite Blake over 500m ? Bandit 3.

But i do aggree that the switchy is a good park and ride kite, easy to use verry forgiving, jumps well, loops well does everything smoothly so it wont scare the ridder to much. But if you want that little bit extra it just doesnt have it, which isnt a problem for a majority of ridders. You cant really compare the switchy to a bandit, it would be like comparing a volvo to a ferrari.

Waxy I have ridden the 12m bandit dos and the 12m switchblade both in 20-25 knot winds. The bandit is really terrifying and awesome! I know what you mean! The switchblade is really perfect for little homos doing 'cute' jumps and twirlies, but the bandit is really an alpha male kite made for someone who wants to go 70-80km/h, jump 10 metres high, almost have a heart attack, and still be trembling with fear the day after their session.

Very keen to try the bandit 3!

i stumbled on this cab kook the other weekend.

now doesnt he know NO ONE kitesurfs here!??! what a kook!

i went down to the water to call him in and tell him no one could see his kooky boardshorts, and that no one could see him trying his lamo little tricks all by himself with no one around to see or run into... but... he wouldnt come in... for hours... and hours...

how dissappointed would he be, when he pulled his first forward roll and NO ONE saw it. i was yelling he has to go back to the city where there are more people. strangely, he didnt seem to care.

even an oldtimer who knew nothing about the sport told me NO ONE kited here, it was only the second kite he had ever seen there (and he had been there nearly 80 years)...

Cab. Kook. Confirmed.

The new beach hack is a XR8 ute, still have the kombi though.

But yeah i may have gone a bit far, the cab is like a holden caprice, it will do just about all the driving for you, but the bandit is like a club sport built for performance.
