But the kite kook of the day award is shared by the 2 guys who tried to launch kites that were WAY to big for the conditions at wanda - both c's as well - one was an 8 and the other was a 10 maybe. As if they were EVER going to last in the peak of all that mess today. Here's a hit kiddies, when the 90kg experienced kiters with 9m bows come off the water that shouls be a hit that it's FREAKING WINDY! (as if you needed that tip after being sandblasted on your walk down to the beach)
Galah
Yes that was myself and a friend kiteing on Sunday at Wanda.
We each have 4 years kiteing experience and 20 and 10 years windsurfing experience, including being a member of the National Team .
We use 'C' kites because we don't like bows. Yes I bought bows and sold them again.
One of us kited at a time while the other windsurfed, we had leashes etc, were down wind of everyone and know our ability. If anything had happened we would have gone onto the sand dunes.
If you had a problem why did you not approach us to discuss, as opposed to seeking the protection of a web site?
Alternatively we could be someone perhaps like yourself who kites at Dolls Point, where if anything goes wrong in any conditions you will end up either in someone's house or at the airport.
Weigh up the risks before opening your mouth, I know which situation is less likely to get kitesurfing banned or hurt someone.
A reason for the kitesurfing club potentially failing is lack of 'buy in' from people like us, because of comments from people like you.
