i took the day off to get my back sorted and then cancelled the appointment so i could go kiting down the coast.
Had to work the next day and pretend that my back felt great

Hey Kiter790-1

Does that mean youve never ever looked at your favourite wind tell tale tree and thought Bugga this The Wind is calling my name its now or never -

Or will i just keep my goodie 2 shoes butt to the mundaine without impulse
or the real fire that burns inside the kiter whos fun becomes addiction - then possession & sometimes controlled by the little voices in their head known as Wind Demons

Or you have no job & partner - we understand you now [}:)]

i just say "see ya later, the wind's up." everyone in my life is used to it by now.
i work for myself, and every jobsite i go to i tell them my hours are 7am to 17 knots. tools down when its windy, no exceptions.

i only get away with it because i'm in a remote area where there are only a few tradies available. there is noone here to step up and take my place when i go to the beach.
i don't think it would work in a big town!

Once while out getting lunch, saw it was pumpin, rang work - said i had a flat & RAC said a couple of hours till they arrived

Jumped into a telephone box & changed into " KITESURFERMAN "

I was out there with a flash - best 2 hours of work eva, got back just in time to finish work

Sometimes it pays to carry a 'spare' in the boot in case of emergency

sorry mate but i've got to ask, 'What sort of car needs RACQ to come out for a flat. takes 10min to wack on the spare. unless you took out the spare to fit the kite in the boot'

I dont lie to go kiting. I just say I'm going, and if noone likes it, too bad.

Sometimes it's good to call RAC for a tyre change. Like on a rally busy street, could be too dangerous. Apart from that do it yourself then, took me 15mins last night in the pitch black.

I wouldn't say I lie exactly, just more of not quite telling the truth. I am lucky to be out and about on the road a lot with my job and so my week often gets arranged around the wind forecast. It's funny how I can always organise my day so I am in the best kiting spots with a free afternoon when the wind is up. Of course if my boss asks, I'm out with clients or suppliers...!

I don't have kids. They are the only people who require you to actually be there, unless you are a flight controller....adults can be left alone for a few hours without painting the walls or bashing their sister. Unless you live in Maroubra, of course.....

I once told an ex that I was going to the pub to get half pissed, then off to shag some swedish backpackers.
She just said, "Don't lie to me, your going kiting aren't you!"

Savethewales, did she believe you?

When I met my current girlfriend I was explaining kiting to her and she said, "So.... It's you, me & the kite then". I corrected her and said, "No, it's me, the kite & you".

She once asked me, "what is better, sex or kiting?"
My reply, "whichever I'm getting the least of!"

Anyway, she is still on the scene and still happy for me to kite whenever there is wind, so it's all good

'Darling, Kenya will be a great place for our Honeymoon, there's big pussy cats for you to see and lovely resorts and beauty treatments and all sorts of girly stuff, and I can go kiting a little bit too.'

Geez did that back fire on me - it only blew one day and I was reduced to lolling by the pool and honeymoon massages from large African women.

I think she did because she said "oh look its windy & you can go kiteing!"

But I dont understand why the front door key doesnt work anymore
Not all was lost though, I have my three kites & board in the boot

Ben DJ

Shouldve taken a 'Monkey' kite & landboard, boosting just before the Lions try to snack on yer ass... Way coool.
Hope it was the wind & not the big African lady doing the blowing on that "massage' day

Hey Elizabeth - Youve lost your tan ?

We may have to start the K.S.A as a Secret Guild to begin with, through fear of being fed to Ben DJs lions & persecution

bit late up for you..

Heres one for your Maths, Engineering creativity side..

Savethewhales,

haha lost my tan!? What the =S lol

Yes K.S.A.... -->> Definitely a Secret Guild to begin with!

Late for me!? Yes. But I'm not sleeping until tomorrow night (welll tonight like 9pm) to get out of my bad sleeping pattern!!!

haha life quotes or analogies... The best I can do with that, totoally unrelated to maths or engineering lol, is that its to do with your transition from one stage of your life to another!? Unsure of where you're going, what you're doing and who you are.!?

lol

Not exactly in line with the topic, but on the tangent of exs, I broke up with one because she told me I was "not allowed to go kiting" because we "had to" go to her sister's for lunch for a birthday.

D,

haha I think that the only way that might be considered a MUST to adhere to is if you're married; even then, an appearance at the Birthday for an hour should be sufficient enough if she isn't far from the beach!

Good reasoning I think... hmmm I wonder why girls don't like the way I think!? LOL

On the lines of this topic... Telling work that they've moved the tutorial/ lecture from say 10-1 Monday to 2-5 Monday! Perfect for a Nly! haha... Depends when the tutor is sick or what class I had to move into! No complaints now; uni is only 2 hours a week [}:)]
