This is just an observation, but the new nomad has a very similar shape to the revolver, minus the middle strut and with slightly more rounded wingtips.

nah dude, Cab is releasing a real skate as well as the Nugget...

120cm, kite rockerline but niiiice (bi-level almost) style tips with a foam deckpad

The Nugget is just a fun board you can jump on, ride, do a few shuvits and varials etc... Or throw some surfboard fins on and carve up some waves...

Hi Bennie

Have a closer look, its a very different kite, very, very different.
The tips are much more upright and less curved or swept back on the Nomad.
The Nomad bridle is completely different, its not a converting bridle (The Revolver could be rigged 1:1 or 2:1).
The Nomad is fast through the window and fast turning with very fast turn initiation, yet maintains good power in turns and kite loops.
That description is very different to how the Revolver could be described.
The Nomad will be a winner with many riders, including waver riders, as well as flat water freestylers who unhook/stay hooked in.

Fair point Steve, Bridle configuration makes a big difference to how a kite performs. It doesn't surprise me at all that the nomad behaves differently to the revolver. I was just making an observation from the pics I have seen. I am looking forward to having a go on a nomad. Are there likely any demo days coming up?

Even though the canopy may look similar in some comparison shots, it is not. The Nomad is a new kite project from the ground up, nothing about it is similar except that Cab made it.

Yeah, I said the guys in Qld could hang on to the Nomad demo until Friday/tomorrow. Then they will ship it to me and I will send them the 10M SB IDSX demo I have here.
They will also be sending me down the Caliber 1.33 and the Nugget.

Call me next week, probably from Tuesday onwards for a demo, the Nomad we have is the 9M, we need approx 15/16 knots for an 80kg person to get going and have fun.

Don't tell anyone, but Cabrinha became affiliates with Ronix and now every board in the cabrinha lineup ships with Ronix One's. Foot hooks are so 2009, why spend all that time body dragging back to your board when you can lace up and join the darkside like everybody else...

Also, no boards come with grab handle inserts this year - nobody uses grab handles anyway! There is an upgrade available (For $999) which features a 360 degree swivel in the middle of the board in order to achieve Rowdy's maximum spinnage...

On a slightly more serious note - here's some pictures of us riding the 9m Nomad and the boards yesterday. The last ones the best I think...

Was between 20 and 25 knots for the most part... I weigh 75 kg's and was WELL lit up on the 9... I could have ridden a 7 and been more comfy...

Custom is a 133, so was the Caliber I was riding... Both boards FLEW upwind compared to last years...

This is at Bribe island, 40mins North of Redcliffe....

So how much is involved in changing the bridle between freestyle / wave mode? couldn't find any info / diagrams / pictures on the cab site.

It's just a knot adjustment on the back lines to change.

You've got your normal 3 knots, plus another 2 knots to change between light/heavy bar pressure & turning speed...

Hi KP

what do you think the top end is for this kite (9m) 75-80 kg rider, both kite and kiteboard ?

What will you be selling this kite for ?

Thanks

MF - top end for me at 75kg's would be 30 knots on the 9m Nomad...
