I do like to sail with my knees bent. The foot peddle position will be determed once I have the "nappy seat worked out. I guess I had better make the foot peddle adjustable. I will want to lend it out to prospective landsailors. The class 5 is a bit to scarry for first time sailors.

I started building with a linkage steering on the mini too , but found that havig the legs"floating " made for a really skitish ( not scottish ) yacht. the feet then moved well forward and got so close that a linkage didnt work too well, whereas a direct connection was feasible and worked well.

I see what you mean about the short linkage Landyacht. It would have a bit too much up and down movement. I think your direct system will work fine for me too. I will have a go on Hiko's mini when he brings it over to Ohope for it's "christening". Looks like that will be very soon. I'll save that steering arm for the Class 6....,
I mean "Class 2 Mini" in Aus-speak.
