Thought I'd check out what the forum was doing these days. Seems like not much has changed. Enjoy the paddle guys, in time when the sport grows all the divisions will be there. Grow the sport in a positive way and look back at why you started SUP
Agreed
The grumpy thread lies twitching like a roo thats just met the bullbar of a B Double on a lonely stretch of the deadly Hume. Allow me to put it out of its misery.
When I kicked off this second grumpy thread it was to illustrate the work that had gone into preparing for the introduction of age groups at both a State and National level. From there it snowballed and some great ideas have bubbled to the surface.
However, I blame myself for short circuiting the tone and direction of the thread. I was angry, still am, but I lost sight of the immediate goal, the attainable prize. We are close, real close to achieving meaningful age groupings for those who wish to compete in both the racing and surfing disciplines of this awesome sport. If you are passionate about that, make sure your State rep goes to the SUP conference at the Nationals locked and loaded with all of the info they need to present a compelling argument for the introduction of expanded age divisions. Lets get this stuff bedded down and then we can re visit at a later date board lengths, surfing styles weight divisions, punters divisions, selection criteria etc etc etc.
Eyes on the prize.....we're that close, and my apologies for side tracking the original intent of the thread.
Looking forward to catching up with all and sundry at Port Mac, dont hesitate to drop in and pay me a visit at the Victorian Branch of the Tent Embassy where I shall maintain an esky full of frosty spondooglers
Cheers
