Just had a session in some reasonable juice of Manly - 6'-7' faces.
There is often a nice fat peak that breaks right out that no one bothers going out to as they just wait further in for the reform. For me this is what this style of board is for - catching those big ones that feather way out the back.
I am surprised how easy this board is to transition into after riding 9'6's all summer.
Most bigger boards take quite a whilst to get used to as they take SOOO much effort to turn after whippy shorter boards. Dont get me wrong the 12' GUN is a BIG board, but it is surprisingly nimble for its size and turns just so sweet off the tail. I had a ball!

For me this board opitpomizes why I got into to Paddle Surfing the first place - it lets you catch waves that you would just struggle on, on any other board. And above all it is pure fun. Your not being drawn into the pack, you just paddle way out to any remote break and away you go.
So far I have had it in 1' and 6' and I've come out of both sessions with a very BIG smile on my face.
LOVING LIFE!
