Picked up my new little baby on Saturday morning my Ron House 12-0. The photos say it all this board is awesome , the surf is only small on the Goldie but it surfed great as I was able to throw it around with ease doing cutbacks in the tiny 1 to 2 foot surf.

The dimensions are 28.5 x 4-1/4 with a double stringer.Dale Chapman will be making these boards under license to Ron House and they will be $1,999 Aus , the tint is extra you will need to get a quote off Dale for that.

Are you planning on using that board for downwinders, flat paddling as well as tinsy glassy bumps and massive surf? I'd be interesting to hear what you think as I'm looking at getting a bigger carbon fibre board myself ,and just toying with ideas at the moment.

I reckon a stable gun could be the all round board we've all been looking for in conditions other than your regular 2' - 4' waves.

You must have quite a quiver now? I'm glad you've found your way and are putting your money down on the custom route. They are some sweet looking boards you've been showing us in recent months.

I was wondering about that.

At first I thought there must be a fair bit of v in the tail but they still seem to toed in a fair bit.

I thought they should point towards the nose.. But they seem to point to the middle of the board.

Maybe it's the camera angle.

Still.. it's a beautiful rhino chaser..

Lobes is right it's just the shadows , they are not the right fins it's just what I had in the back of my ute , the surf was so small it didn't matter what I put in.

This boards main use will be for the big stuff but in between that my wife and I will use it in the river to keep the fitness up , the family board when we go boating and the occasional down winder. The board is very fast on the flat and catching waves and bumps so I may do the occasional race but it's not a race board.

The board is seriously built it's not a light weight , it's a 12 foot version of Laird Hamiltons 14 footer that Ron built.

C'mon Huey send me some swell.

Nice looking gun Piros, start gripping up it is about 3 to 4 ft now and getting bigger by the minute. Tell your male model he has to get another look (blue steel is already taken)

Board looks amazing! The finish is perfect!

Maybe I'm missing something, but if prone surfers are charging big waves on anything from low 7' to over 8' in length, why are SUP Guns being built so long? I understand the shape/length thing and how it works but can't figure out the extra length of SUP Guns.
I would have thought something around 10' to 11' with a Gun shape would be easier to handle, not bounce around as much and still paddle into waves way quicker than any prone surfer.

Are we going to see SUP Guns come down in size like we have with normal surf SUP's?

I'll answer this best I can to my knowledge.

If you cut 1 or 2 feet off this board and still left it at 28.5 wide you could not pull the nose and tail in like this board. You would end up with a fat gun defeating the purpose. You need the length and the pulled in pin pin shape for speed.

The first day I rode this board my mate Macca was out on his Ron House 12-0 standard sup , when we swapped the first thing I noticed was his 12-0 was much more stable but it was alot harder to get going off the mark and get onto the waves. As soon as the tail on the Gun lifted from the swell you were away but on the std 12-0 you still needed a couple of extra strokes. Down the line the gun just runs and surprisingly was much easier to throw around than the std 12-0.

Lairds Rhino chaser is 14 foot which Ron also built and when you watch videos of him surfing huge waves in big winds he uses every bit of that 14 feet getting onto the wave.

Hey Piros, what are you going to do with the deck grip art?.....Ive noticed that Laird doesn't always go the conventional grip, he actually just does "the wax up deal".

Yeah that all makes perfect sense. So keeping things to scale a small version for smaller lighter guys would be 11'3" x 27" approx. I heard somewhere the Gun Laird was riding at Chopes was a fraction under 11ft and thats why I was wondering about length. Cheers!

Hey Piros,
What are the widths 1 foot from the nose and 1 foot from the tail?
Best RH board I have seen. Its does not even look 12 foot. I sure it will be a bit tricky to paddle?
Regards,
Scotty
