Hey Piros,
What are the widths 1 foot from the nose and 1 foot from the tail?
Best RH board I have seen. Its does not even look 12 foot. I sure it will be a bit tricky to paddle?
Regards,
Scotty

Board looks amazing! The finish is perfect!

Maybe I'm missing something, but if prone surfers are charging big waves on anything from low 7' to over 8' in length, why are SUP Guns being built so long? I understand the shape/length thing and how it works but can't figure out the extra length of SUP Guns.
I would have thought something around 10' to 11' with a Gun shape would be easier to handle, not bounce around as much and still paddle into waves way quicker than any prone surfer.

Are we going to see SUP Guns come down in size like we have with normal surf SUP's?

Hey Brendon,

I am having that looked at closely by a local shaper as we speak!

I personally aren't convinced we have the right formula yet, although Piros point were all valid. Maybe I'm wrong but innovation wouldn't allow it.

I'm going to call it! The going shorter revolution is over, I'm going to get me a big 12' 6" x 28.5" wide carbon fibre gun for conditions that don't suit 2' - 5' surf.

Big fat surf, tiny glassy bumps, flat water paddling, the odd down winder, something to carry my fishing rods on to a little deserted island somewhere. Many of us started on boards this size, but they had more of a longboard shape, were thick, and nicknamed aircraft carriers.

These guns are cool, they look like real surrboards and not canoes and they will become the new black.

Well....I can't deny it. I've got one on order. By the way Piros, great looking board. I agree with your length explanation as well. I always thought long and narrow = fast and short and wide = slow. The trick, like most things, is to find the right combination (everythings a compromise) for the owner of the board.

As far as stability goes for me it's no problems , it's looks unstable but there is still alot of board under you feet , if it does roll it's very easy to correct giving it execellent secondary stability.

Whats going on with the deck grip.....plenty give me a few more days this one is going to be a work of art , this board deserves it.

Paddle speed...XXXL surf demands alot more foward momentum as the waves are moving alot fatser...greater waterline length helps once your on the wave as well...boards with a long pulled in PIN tail tend to be tighter to too as well giving you less chance of spinning out at the bottom of something that looks like a block of flats

thomo, your not wrong, noosa was way better for the finals ,pehaps your surfshapes would have been perfect for it.i love the look of these 12 footers especially the custom ones, the RH looks fast just being held, maybe a photo of piros at that secret spot on the border coast sliding into a large one would be tonic for us wave starved noosa folk

Where is this magical swell ? the charts say it should be cranking .....but it's crap. Looks like it's a road trip somewhere between Noosa & Lennox.
