Since the day I started the original windsurfing forum, then kitesurfing, then SUP, the vision has been a place of people getting along, sharing knowledge and sharing the stoke.

The original rules still apply...

1. Be good to others.
2. Keep it fun.
3. Keep it clean - no swearing, harrasement etc.
4. Keep it fun.
5. Keep it legal!
6. Keep it fun.
7. No Advertising.

If some is regularly annoying then let me know,as I can't read everything. It's not dobbing, it's just letting me (your host) know that somebody is tooling it up, and wrecking the party.

Most of the forum administration happens offline via PM. I write to crew to get their perspective on what/why they're posting. As host, I do my best to get everybody to get along. Its about people.

Personally, I want to be able to post here amongst the company of friends, and I'm sure you do to.

On the positive took off to Noosa for a little three day get away and found the locals really welcoming in and out of the surf,I met up with a few sup'ers and a wife to a forum member,nice little board and she rides its wellOh I was riding my LB's and it got to a stage,hey you want this?,nah you gosuch was the vibe,see we can all get along,its just attitude

The site itself is great and having met Laurie at Merimbula his vision for the site is also great.

The mix of soft porn lack of moderation and abuse drives the average punter away!

If I wanted soft porn I'd buy playboy or goto a porn website.

If soft porn is acceptable (and maybe it is) at least make them great soft porn shots so that even the ladies / girls are impressed or get a few how to show your butt off tips and please post the bikini name for a solid pimp so my daughter know what to buy!

The ability to totally block a user you dont want to see post from would also be useful. Click the tab and no more OGSUP crap you dont see thier posts etc job done. Available on many social networking sites.

I dont see any point to putting up with troll post after troll post in what other wise would be positive and informative topics. Thats what hijacks the topic, makes it negative and drives people away.

There is a significant difference between constructive debate and discussion and snide abuse and really its pretty easy to spot. No rocket science there.

Rip into someone and get banned for a week might also slow down some of the crap.

If your truely going to stop the pimping then stop the pimping for one and all dont be selective no matter how many advertising dollars are being thrown around.

There are Banner ads, topic ads etc etc thats what the industry is paying for.

There is a huge difference between someone posting a fun day out full of stoke and a full blown cash for comment post. Again no rocket science.

If the person is industry that does not make their comment any less valid as long as you know they are industry in the 1st place and they disclose it who cares. Again its pretty easy to spot industry, team riders and shop pimps.

Lets face it there is a huge difference between some one who is pimping thier local shop as they are getting what they see as great service and paid for comment!

Take out at least some of the blatant inconsistency thats rife and people will return.

Laurie, if you dont like what is happening with people leaving change the process, if you do what you have always done, guess what the result will always be the same!

PS I just reported my own post, red thummed myself 15 times in the longboard forum under my 7 other muliple avatars and banned myself for a week!
