The nose of the board cannot sink in a catapult.
1. Water needs time to displace.
2. Most catapults occur when the board is near or at planing speeds.

Firstly Boston, fully agree, as you know. My boards have been exposed to mast strikes and before I ride a new board I always use hotmelt glue and some foam to protect it. Lastest advice is 1m x 1m x 20mm EVA foam floor mat from bunnings.

1. I disagree! The flat noses on 2021/2022 boards pierce the water quite well!

2. Most of my catapults are at or near top speed, not just planing speed!

Seriously, you are deluding yourself by saying you can sink the nose, at top speed, by crashing your rigs mast onto the nose.
Pure delusion!
Dream on.
You will become a billionaire.
You will live forever.

It's the FOIL that stops you, not the rig slamming into the top of the nose.

This still makes me laugh. Great that you have a sense of humor that matches your skills. Well done, sir.
