Westerly 37 knots measured, probably hit 40 briefly, the windiest I've foiled in. Used the standard PFI 730 wing which at 1,437 cm2 is a fairly big wing. Normally would have been on the much smaller Infinity 65.
The 103cm super-stiff carbon mast, streamlined wings and fuse help heaps with control when it's blowing hard.
I reckon if you're over 80kgs and want to go Phantasm you really do only need one setup for 10-40 knots - I wouldn't have thought it possible.

Comparing with the much cheaper Hoverglide;
The Infinity 76 wing's awesome for 10-25 knot winds, carves as well as the Phantasm and almost as fast.
20-35 knot winds, the Infinity 65 is amazing, super controllable - the fastest carving Slingshot wing.

What's fun about foiling in nuclear wind? Epic mid-river windswells, 1.5m+ when it blows over 30 knots

I have the PTM 926 on loan from Jesper and had a few goes, awesome in lighter conditions.
Don't think it will have anywhere near the wind range of the standard PFI 730 wing.

Waiting for the PTM 730 - apparently super quick and carvey (as you would expect).

I'm thinking that high aspect isn't as big a deal for our style of foiling as for other disciplines?
We usually have plenty of sail power so foot pumping is not a big requirement (although fun to do).
We'll see - it might turn out I'm completely wrong

Ya, I noticed the premiere has been delayed several times. I'm sure glad I pulled the trigger back in april and bought the HG for my first foil rig. Don't think I could do justice to the phantasm yet anyway. Lots more practice needed.

That is a big chunk of profit margin lost on freight alone.

There is also a container shortage coming into the U.S. from Asia,
a) they slowed down the manufacturing of freight containers 18 months ago and have not caught up, b) the U.S. imports more than they export and no one wants to pay for empty shipping containers going back to Asia, c) The new mega size cargo ships cannot just dock anywhere! and then you have issues like the Suez canal.

Yep, it's pretty much every industry. I design systems for the semicondutor industry, I've had so many orders delayed 8+ months, I've had to redesign to available parts. Not the grade of parts I want, but with Global chip shortage, you work with what you can get.
I've had manufacturers (Germany) offer a 50% discount if I don't cancel the order.

I was interested to see the new Slingshot Phastasm foil system as although I absolutely love my Slingshot hover glide 76 the construction is shocking especially the fuselage! I have had two break resulting in me losing my front wing and badly damaging my board so I am now nervous of using it. There is a big group of 76 users locally with several now thinking of changing to the much better made Starboard foils, in fact all foils are better made than the slingshot which is why I eagerly awaited the arrival of the new Phastasm which by the look of the pics I have seen looks amazing but again a couple of things seem to disappoint, the price which is very high compared to a lot of freeride foils and secondly the ones that have reached the UK after many months of delay only come with a plate fitting, how are we supposed to fit one to a tuttle box board, if you now need an adapter I think that rather defeats having a spanky expensive carbon mast, why can't Slingshot make a one piece tuttle box carbon mast or do they and they have just disappeared in distribution????

I think their marketing team are missing a whole market segment here . that more than a few of us are into. I think they only associate swell riding with wings.

Agreed. All the azymuth video's are a better marketing tool as also is the Glazier hood river stuff. Showcases more all around performance, carving, jibing, etc. I'm sure jumping is fun, but nothing I plan on doing.

Man I work with Slingshot Australia and I think I had to wait for two years for my PTM730 Phantasm, demand and the ability of the factory production has held this up. Then there is shipping. They are worth waiting for.

I was very lucky to get my hands on a Phantasm 730 ! I'm a fairly low hour wind foiler who has only just started to complete gibes. I have just upgraded from the HG 76 and have found the extra mast height has given me way more confidence in ocean swells and with the more locked in stable feeling has allowed me to power up more without fear of over foiling. I've had 4 sessions with the 73 in 15 knots and in 30 knots and it's worked with early lift equal to the 76 but with much more control in 30 knots . I think I'm progressing faster with the Phantasm and consequently loving it Bring on the Summer !
