Bugger, you caught me out, gezzzz your a smart one. If that is the first and only sailor back then in France, why does he need a sail number ??????
I heard someone down the beach yesterday say the LT is like an Elvis impersonator at the RSL. Young kiddies dance to it cause they don't know any better yet and the oldies dance to it cause they prefer life 50 years ago.
I don't get what they mean though as I have never heard of a Elvis before????
Funny, the other day someone said that kiters and windfoilers are like teenyboppers drooling over their Noah Centinio posters and looking up Seventeen for advice on how to wear the latest trend of knee-high boots and flannel. Because after all, nothing is important as fashion and keeping up with the cool kids. Or you could go with the Alpaca trend, because after all what really matters is being trendy.

Y'know, it's sort of funny that someone who has a pic from 1982 on his profile is so obsessed with slinging **** at other things for being old fashioned. The Young Ones are only a few years newer than the Windsurfer in Oz, so if Windsurfers look old then you must look pretty crusty yourself.
Hey Chris, I'm not slinging anything. While I appreciate comedy is very subjective, funny is funny, even if it has the potential to offend. I found (and find)
some of Lotofwinds comments pretty funny. I don't necessarily
agree with what he writes. To suggest that laughing at something endorses it is being naive to human behaviour.
Like pretty much any recreation or past-time a "retro" market exists in Windsurfing and has very passionate enthusiasts. I came very late to windsurfing and really wish I had learnt it as a kid or younger adult. Perhaps I too would have the same passion for the the LT as many of the contributors to this thread do if I had the same sense of nostalgia they do. I can't change the past. I can relate to your passion and enthusiasm, just not for the same thing.
The only issue I have with some of the comments posted by some LT lovers is that they have the same undertones of religious zealots trying to convert non-believers. I love reading how much you guys love your sport but comparisons and general statements about other forms of the sport tend to divide rather than unite (just like different religions).
