I think the Star Wars analogy is perfect. (BTW, for you poor, tragic youngsters who weren't able to catch the first wave of Star Wars fever back in '77-'78, boy did you guys miss out.
The defining cultural event of the millennia, and you poor little buggers were born just a few years too late! Ya had ta settle for watching it on one of those Deevy Dee things, decades too late. Might as well not have bothered, I reckon!)

*ahem* anyway, basically the Dark Side of the Force tempts those with weaker minds, offering them power and the gratification of their desires, and is much quicker and easier to master than the lighter side, which requires much sacrifice and discipline. But, ultimately, the Dark Side consumes them and leaves them hollow, as exemplified by Anakin Skywalker, who lost everything he loved and became a monster. He's a Kitesurfer, and guys like Obi-Wan and Yoda are windsurfers, diligently practising their gybes for years after Anakin has already mastered all the ways of the dark side. Theirs is the humbler, more noble way, and ultimately they win.
Kitesurfing. Windsurfing. Star Wars. It's all so CLEAR, can't you guys see?

Hey some of my best friends kite. It's no problem, really...
